Mirek Mazur (born January 12, 1961 in Jelcz, Poland) is a Canadian cycling coach. His coaching career spanned 30 years, coaching professionally in Canada (National Coach at 1991 Pan-Am Games) USA (1998 National Coach) and Poland. Developed three world champions in three different countries (Poland, USA, Canada). Under his direction, Canadian riders won three medals at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Mirek Topolánek (, born 15 May 1956) is a Czech politician and business manager who served as the prime minister of the Czech Republic from 2006 to 2009 and the leader of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) from 2002 to 2010. Between 2006 and 2009, Topolánek was the member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) and senator from Ostrava from 1996 until 2004. After leaving the politics in 2010, Topolánek has been active in the electric power industry. On 24 March 2009, Topolánek resigned as prime minister after he lost a no-confidence vote in the Chamber of Deputies. He remained in office until 8 May, at which point Jan Fischer took office as an independent prime minister leading an interim caretaker government. Miroslav Smíšek (2 February 1925 – 19 May 2013) was a Czechoslovakian-born New Zealand potter. Biography Smíšek was born in the Bohemia region of Czechoslovakia in 1925. After spending most of World War II in labour camps due to his efforts in the anti-Nazi resistance movement, he fled Europe in 1948 after the Czech coup. He emigrated first to Australia, and then to New Zealand in 1951, and became a naturalised New Zealand citizen in 1955. He worked for the Crown Lynn pottery in Auckland where he created the "Bohemia Ware" line in manganese slip glaze, before moving to Nelson in 1952. There he worked at the Nelson Brick and Pipe Company, where he learned the technique of salt glazing. He left in 1957 and became New Zealand's first full-time studio potter.
