Miracle Of Love
The Miracle of Love is a new religious movement based in Denver, Colorado. Miracle of Love now goes by the name Center of The Golden One. Until 2010, it was headed by two leaders, Kalindi La Gourasana and The Lady. The group's stated mission is to break people free from the cycle of birth and death and bring them home to God in this lifetime. The central guidance on how to do this derives from the teachings of the Gourasana. History The Miracle of Love was started in 1987 by David Swanson, his wife Carole Seidman (who took the name Kalindi) and The Lady, and several other persons. This is when the benevolent Being Gourasana is believed to have entered David Swanson's body as "an Incarnation of God manifesting on Earth". New Religious Movement
A new religious movement (NRM), also known as alternative spirituality or a new religion, is a religious or spiritual group that has modern origins and is peripheral to its society's dominant religious culture. NRMs can be novel in origin or they can be part of a wider religion, in which case they are distinct from pre-existing denominations. Some NRMs deal with the challenges which the modernizing world poses to them by embracing individualism, while other NRMs deal with them by embracing tightly knit collective means. Scholars have estimated that NRMs number in the tens of thousands worldwide, with most of their members living in Asia and Africa. The ''Pacific Sun'' is a free distribution weekly newspaper published in Marin County, just north of San Francisco in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the longest running alternative weekly in the nation and is published on Wednesdays. Since October 2019, Daedalus Howell has been its editor. History The ''Pacific Sun'' was founded in April 1963 in California by Merrill and Joann Grohman in the back of a Stinson Beach grocery store. In 1966, the ''Pacific Sun'' moved its offices to San Rafael. Steve McNamara, the former Sunday editor of the ''San Francisco Examiner'', bought it from the Grohmans that year. Ten months after McNamara took over as editor, the San Francisco Press Club awarded its first prize for the best news story in a northern California non-daily paper for the ''Sun''s story “The Night Nicasio Fired the Principal”, about a school board’s firing of a principal for admitting to marijuana use. Reincarnation
Reincarnation, also known as rebirth or transmigration, is the philosophical or religious concept that the non-physical essence of a living being begins a new life in a different physical form or body after biological death. Resurrection is a similar process hypothesized by some religions, in which a soul comes back to life in the same body. In most beliefs involving reincarnation, the soul is seen as immortal and the only thing that becomes perishable is the body. Upon death, the soul becomes transmigrated into a new infant (or animal) to live again. The term transmigration means passing of soul from one body to another after death. The term large-group awareness training (LGAT) refers to activities - usually offered by groups with links to the human potential movement - which claim to increase self-awareness and to bring about desirable transformations in individuals' personal lives. LGATs are unconventional; they often take place over several days, and may compromise participants' mental wellbeing. LGAT programs may involve several hundred people at a time. Though early definitions cited LGATs as featuring unusually long durations, more recent texts describe trainings lasting from a few hours to a few days. Forsyth and Corazzini cite Lieberman (1994) as suggesting "that at least 1.3 million Americans have taken part in LGAT sessions".
