Haven is a supernatural drama television series loosely based on the Stephen King novel ''The Colorado Kid.'' The show, filmed on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada, is an American/Canadian co-production. Haven is also the name of the town where the protagonist goes and where she discovers numerous townsfolk afflicted with supernatural problems. Haven residents refer to these problems collectively as The Troubles. Each episode deals with an incident arising from the town's Troubles.
