Ministry of the Interior is a government ministry of Slovakia. Since 21 March 2020, the Minister of the Interior has been Roman Mikulec. Roman Mikulec
Roman Mikulec is a Slovak politician and former soldier, serving as the current Interior Minister of Slovakia. Education In 1994, Mikulec graduated with a Master's degree at the Military Air Force Academy in Košice (today Faculty of Aeronautics of Technical University of Košice). He also holds a M.Sc. in law, economics and management from the Brno International Business School (B.I.B.S.). Career After a short time as a fighter pilot, in 1997 Mikulec joined the Military Intelligence Service, eventually becoming its director. He was charged with sabotage, defamation and disclosing classified information in 2013, but was acquitted in 2019. In 2020 parliamentary election, Mikulec stood for Ordinary People, an anti-corruption party. He received 7435 preferential votes and was elected to the National Council. Pellegrini's Cabinet
Pellegrini's Cabinet is the former government of Slovakia, headed by prime minister Peter Pellegrini. It was formed on 22 March 2018, after the Prime Minister Robert Fico resigned, as a result of the popular protests following the murder of Ján Kuciak and his fiancée, Martina Kušnírová. According to the Slovak Constitution, if the Prime Minister resigns, the entire government resigns as well. Nevertheless, the composition of the government was to a large extent the same as the previous government. All members of the Smer-SD, SNS and Most-Híd parties supported the re-constructed government. The cabinet was approved by the National Council on 26 March 2018 with an 81-61 vote, while protests erupted in the streets of Bratislava. It was replaced by the Cabinet of Igor Matovič after the 2020 parliamentary election. Denisa Saková
Denisa Saková (born 17 April 1976) is a Slovak politician, member of Hlas – SD and former Minister of Interior of Slovakia from April 2018 to March 2020. Saková studied Engineering management at University of Economics in Bratislava. She subsequently worked in various companies in the IT industry. First of all at DELTA E.S., a.s. as a consultant. Between 2001 and 2003 she worked for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in Bratislava and Berlin. From 2003 to 2007, Saková worked for E.ON IT Slovakia, s.r.o. as Director of the Application Department. She then worked for the Ministry of Interior under Minister Robert Kaliňák as Secretary of State. She was appointed Minister of Interior on 26 April 2018 by President Andrej Kiska. Government Of Slovakia
The Government of the Slovak Republic ( sk, Vláda Slovenskej republiky) exercises executive authority in Slovakia. It is led by the Prime Minister of Slovakia, who is nominated by the President of Slovakia, and is usually the leader of majority party or of majority coalition after an election to the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The Cabinet appointed by the president on recommendation of the prime minister must gain a vote of confidence in the National Council.
