The Ministry of Transport and Communications is a ministry in Zambia. It is headed by the Minister of Transport and Communications. In 2011 the ministry was merged with the Ministry of Works And Supply to form the Ministry of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication. The merger was reversed in 2015. Nkandu Luo
Nkandu Phoebe Luo (born 21 December 1951) is a Zambian microbiologist and politician who was a vice presidential candidate for the Patriotic Front in the August 2021 election. She is a microbiologist who previously served as Head of Pathology and Microbiology at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka and has carried out extensive research into HIV/AIDS. Early life and education Luo was born at Lubwa Mission Hospital in Chinsali on 21 December 1951. Her parents were both teachers and Luo was one of the eight surviving children. She attended Roma Girls Secondary School and Dominican Convent. She has a MSc in microbiology from Moscow State University and a MSc and PhD in immunology from the University of Brunei Darussalam. Patriotic Front (Zambia)
The Patriotic Front (PF) is a social democratic political party in Zambia. The party was formed by Michael Sata as a breakaway party of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) in 2001 after the President Frederick Chiluba nominated Levy Mwanawasa as its presidential candidate for 2001 elections. The party's main base of support are usually the youth and poor people in urban centres (although this support wavered starting in 2021), as well as members of the Bemba people in Copperbelt Province and Lusaka Province. After several years, the PF gained power in the 2011 general elections, and governed until the 2021 elections. Formation The Patriotic Front was formed as a political party in 2001. Peter Daka
Peter Marvin William Daka (born 3 November 1960) is a Zambian politician. He served as a Member of the National Assembly for Msanzala from 2003 to 2021. Biography In the 2001 general elections, Daka contested the Msanzala seat as the Heritage Party candidate, finishing fourth with 21% of the vote, whilst Levison Mumba of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) was elected.
