The Ministry of Religion and Diaspora ( sr, Министарство вера и дијаспоре / Ministarstvo vera i dijasopre) was the ministry in the Government of Serbia which was in charge of connection with the Serbian diaspora. The ministry was merged into the Ministry of Culture and Information on 27 July 2012. History The ministry was established on 11 February 1991. It was abolished from 2001 to 2004. The Ministry of Religion which existed from 1991 to 2011, merged into the ministry in 2011. The Ministry of Religion and Diaspora was later merged into the Ministry of Culture and Information on 27 July 2012. Also, the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region and Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities were established on 2 August 2012 and took some of the Ministry's jurisdictions. The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia ( sr, Министарство културе и информисања, Ministarstvo kulture i informisanja) is the ministry in the Government of Serbia which is in the charge of culture and information. The current minister is Maja Gojković, in office since 28 October 2020. History The Ministry of Culture and Information was established on 11 February 1991. The Ministry of Information was merged into the Ministry of Culture in 2001. The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society was merged into the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Informational Society in 2011. The Ministry of Religion and Diaspora which existed from 1991 to 2012, merged into the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Diaspora in 2012. Vojislav Vukčević
Vojislav Vukčević ( sr-cyr, Војислав Вукчевић; 1938-2016) was a Serbian politician. He served as the Minister of Diaspora from 2004 to 2007. Education and career Vukčević was born in 1938 in Osijek in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (today in Croatia), his father being from Montenegro. He graduated from the University of Belgrade's Law School and received a doctoral degree from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law, in 1974. He was a president of the court in Beli Manastir, and worked as a dean and professor at the Faculty of Law, Osijek University, until the breakup of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He was the founder of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) in Baranja and Eastern Slavonia in 1990. Vukčević has been a secretary-general of the Serbian Renewal Movement since 1994. Srđan Srećković
Srđan Srećković ( sr-cyr, Срђан Срећковић; born 12 April 1974) is a Serbian politician. He served as the Minister of Diaspora from 2008 to 2011, as the Minister of Religion and Diaspora from 2011 to 2012 and as Deputy Minister for trade, tourism and services from 2004 to 2007. Milica Čubrilo - Filipović ( sr-Cyrl, Милица Чубрило - Филиповић) is a Serbian politician and diplomat. She served as the Minister of Diaspora from 2007 to 2008. The Serbian Renewal Movement ( sr-cyrl, Српски покрет обнове, Srpski pokret obnove, SPO) is a liberal and monarchist political party in Serbia. History The Serbian Renewal Movement party was founded in 1990 through the merger of Drašković's faction from the Serbian National Renewal (SNO) party and Vojislav Šešelj's Serbian Freedom Movement. Šešelj left the party in 1991 after internal quarrels and founded the Serbian Radical Party. It was initially aligned with national conservatism and supported the territorial expansion of Serbia.
