The Ministry of Planning Economic Development and International Cooperation (''MOPEDIC'') (; ) was established in 1998 as a directorate and Puntland Bank system. In August 2001 the Ministry has been structured and changed the previous name into the Ministry of Planning and International cooperation instead of directorate, in 2003-2005 the Ministry was renamed as the Ministry of Planning and statistics, then in 2006 it was named again as the Ministry of planning and international cooperation. The Government of Puntland ( so, Dowlada Buntlaand ee Soomaaliya) is the supreme governing authority of the Autonomous region of Puntland State of Somalia. The legal structure of Puntland consists of the judiciary, legislative (House of Representatives) and the executive (the President and his nominated council of Ministries) branches of government. Puntland has conducted four presidential elections (1998, 2004, 2009, 2014). Presidents are elected by a 66-member unicameral parliament. Mohamed Said Mohamed Farole (), (); is a Somali politician and current Minister of the Puntland Ministry of Planning Economic Development and International Cooperation on September 23, 2022.
