Government of the Syrian Arab Republic is the union government created by the constitution of Syria where by the President of Syria, president is the head of state and the Prime Minister of Syria, prime minister is the head of government. Executive power is exercised by the government. Syria has a People's Assembly of Syria, legislative council with 250 members. Khalid Al-Ansari
Khalid al-Ansari was a cabinet minister and judge in Syria. He served as Ministry of Justice (Syria), justice minister in Hafez al-Assad's cabinet in the early 1990s. Public career Khalid al-Ansari served on Syria's Court of Economic Security (Syria), court of economic security prior to his appointment to cabinet. In 1990, while serving as justice minister, he received a request from the government of East Germany for the extradition of Nazi war criminal Alois Brunner, who was widely believed to be living in Syria under an assumed name. Criticism Syrian Human Rights Association president Muhanad Alhansi issued a paper in 2011 entitled, "A Study on the independence of the legal profession in Syria," in which he described al-Ansari as having set draconian legal precedents as a judge and as having interfered with the court of economic security's independence while in cabinet. Politics in the Syrian Arab Republic takes place in the framework of a presidential republic with nominal multiparty representation in parliament but with most opposition parties suppressed. Najm Hamad Al Ahmad
Najm Hamad Al Ahmad ( ar, نجم حمد الأحمد) (born 1969) is a Syrian jurist and justice minister from 2012 until 2017. Early life and education Ahmad was born in Aleppo in 1969. He hails from an Alawi family. He holds a bachelor's degree in law, which he received in 1991. He also obtained degrees in general law, administrative law and administrative sciences from the University of Damascus and Ain Shams University in Egypt. He also received a PhD in law from Ain Shams University. Career Ahmad served as the chairman of the judicial reform committee formed on 17 May 2011. He also served as deputy justice minister. On 16 August 2012, Ahmad was appointed justice minister by the Syrian president Bashar Assad to the cabinet headed by Wael Al Halaqi. Tayseer Qala Awwad
Judge Tayseer Qala Awwad (born 1943) is one of the former ministers of justice of Syria. Early life and education Awwad was born in Damascus in 1943. He earned a law degree from the University of Damascus School of Law in 1974. Career Awwad is a military judge, the former president of a military court, the president of the judicial inspection department at the ministry of justice, and a member of the Supreme Judicial Council. He was chairman of the commission of inquiry into crimes committed in the shield. Awwad was appointed justice minister to the cabinet headed by then prime minister Adel Safar in April 2011.
