Ministry Of Justice (Iraq)
Established in 1920, the Ministry of Justice of Iraq (MoJ) is the federal government ministry concerned with judicial and prosecutorial training, publishing the Official Gazette, notaries public, deeds and records, and since 5 June 2004, prisons. In 2007, the ministry possessed a staff of 13,619. Also, 130 courthouses and headquarters are located at the Ministry of Justice Building. The Emblem of Iraq since Baath's coups d'état features a golden black eagle looking towards the viewer's left dexter. Muhammed Ali Mahmud is an Iraqi politician who held various ministerial positions during the monarchy in Iraq. Career He worked as a clerk for the Iraqi Law School after it reopened in 1919, and Ibrahim Al-Waidh succeeded him after graduating in the second year. He held the position of Minister of Finance succeeding Jaafar Abu Al Taman in the Ministry of Hikmat Sulayman in 1937, and he was appointed to the position of Minister without Ministry at the last days of Rashid Ali al-Gaylani's third Ministry and then to the position of Minister of Works and Transport in the fourth Ministry of Rashid Ali al-Gaylani in 1941. Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal
The Iraqi High Tribunal (IHT), formerly the Iraqi Special Tribunal and sometimes referred to as the Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal, is a body established under Iraqi national law to try Iraqi nationals or residents accused of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes or other serious crimes committed between 1968 and 2003. It organized the trial of Saddam Hussein and other members of his Ba'ath Party regime. The Court was set up by a specific Statute issued under the Coalition Provisional Authority and now reaffirmed under the jurisdiction of the Iraqi Interim Government.
