Ministry Of Infrastructure (Rwanda)
The Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA; rw, Ministeri y'Ibikorwaremezo; french: Ministère des Infrastructures) is a department of the Government of Rwanda. The Ministry is responsible for infrastructure policy and development throughout the country. Claver Gatete is the current Minister of Infrastructure. History The ministry was founded after Rwandan independence in 1962 as the ''Ministry for Technical Businesses''. Three years later it was renamed to the ''Ministry of Public services''. Following the military coup which brought President Juvenal Habyarimana to power, the ministry was renamed again to the ''Ministry of Public Services and Energy''. It retained this name until 1980, when it was expanded to include a water remit. Nyabarongo Bridge Photo
The Nyabarongo (or Nyawarungu) is a major river in Rwanda, part of the upper headwaters of the Nile. With a total length of , it is the longest river entirely in Rwanda. It is extended in Lake Rweru including a upper course of Kagera River before joining into Ruvuvu River to form the Kagera River. The river begins its course at the confluence of the rivers Mbirurume and Mwogo in the South West of the country. These two rivers themselves begin in Nyungwe Forest, and are considered by some to be the most distant source of the Nile. From its start, Nyabarongo flows northward for 85 km (53 miles), and forms the border between the Western and Southern Provinces. At the confluence with the river Mukungwa, the river changes course and flows eastward for 12 km (7.5 miles), then to a more South Eastern course for the last 200 km (124 miles). Rwanda
Rwanda (; rw, u Rwanda ), officially the Republic of Rwanda, is a landlocked country in the Great Rift Valley of Central Africa, where the African Great Lakes region and Southeast Africa converge. Claver Gatete
Claver Gatete (born 23 May 1962) is a Rwandan politician and ambassador, who currently serves as Rwanda's Permanent Representative to the United Nations as of March 28, 2022. He previously served as the Ministry of Infrastructure (Rwanda), Minister of Infrastructure in the Cabinet of Rwanda, Rwandan cabinet. Decimus Junius Juvenalis (), known in English as Juvenal ( ), was a Roman poet active in the late first and early second century CE. He is the author of the collection of satirical poems known as the ''Satires''. The details of Juvenal's life are unclear, although references within his text to known persons of the late first and early second centuries CE fix his earliest date of composition. Rwandan Genocide
The Rwandan genocide occurred between 7 April and 15 July 1994 during the Rwandan Civil War. During this period of around 100 days, members of the Tutsi minority ethnic group, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were killed by armed Hutu militias. The most widely accepted scholarly estimates are around 500,000 to 662,000 Tutsi deaths. In 1990, the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), a rebel group composed mostly of Tutsi refugees, invaded northern Rwanda from their base in Uganda, initiating the Rwandan Civil War. Over the course of the next three years, neither side was able to gain a decisive advantage.
