The Ministry of Homeland Security & Technology, sometimes called as the Ministry of Home Affairs is part of the Maldivian Executive branch responsible for maintaining law and order in the Maldives at the national level. It was introduced in 1932 after the Maldivian independence under president Ibrahim Nasir, the second president of Maldives. History Ever since the first constitution came into effect, a Ministry of Home Affairs was instituted on 22 December 1932 under the name of "Al Wuzara Al’Dhaakhiliyya" which was mandated to oversee and execute the internal affairs of the country. The politics of the Maldives, as per the reports, take place in the framework of a presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the President is the Head of Government. Executive power is exercised by the government. The President heads the executive branch and appoints the Cabinet; like many presidential democracies, each member of the cabinet need to be approved by the Parliament. Abdul Majeed Didi
Abdul Majeed (Dhivehi: އަލްއަމީރު އަބްދުލްމަޖީދު ރައްނަބަނޑޭރި ކިލެގެފާނު) (or Al Ameeru Abdul Majeed Rannabandeyri Kilegefaanu) (29 August 1873 – 21 February 1952) served as Sultan of the Maldives from 1944 to 1952. At the time, the Maldives were a British protectorate. Didi is recognized a reformer and has been described as "the father of the modern Maldives". Mohamed Jameel Ahmed ( dv, މުޙައްމަދު ޖަމީލް އަޙުމަދު; born 13 October 1969) is a Maldivian lawyer and politician who was Vice President of the Maldives from 2013 to 2015. Ameen Faisal is the former National Security Advisor and former Minister of Defence and National Security of the Republic of Maldives.
