The Ministry of Health ( my, ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ကြီးဌာန, ; abbreviated MOH) is a national government-run ministry administering health affairs and health care in Myanmar, including all of the medical schools. In 2016, President Htin Kyaw dissolved the Ministry of Sports (Myanmar) and organized it under the Ministry of Health. On 25 May 2016, it was renamed to Ministry of Health and Sports (Myanmar). On 1 August 2021, the SAC reconstituted the Ministry of Health and Sports as Ministry of Health and Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. Naypyidaw
Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw (; ), is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the centre of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. It is unusual among Myanmar's cities, as it is an entirely planned city outside of any state or region. Sultan Mahmud (minister)
Sultan Mahmud (1900 – 1982) was a politician from Arakan, Burma (now Rakhine State, Myanmar). In the British Raj (which included Burma Province until 1937), Mahmud served as cabinet secretary in the Central Legislative Assembly. After Burmese independence, he was elected to the Parliament of Burma through a by election from Buthidaung in 1957. He was re-elected in 1960. He served as Minister of Health of the Union of Burma from 1960 till the 1962 Burmese coup d'état. When Burma was considering becoming a federal state under Prime Minister U Nu's "unity in diversity" policies, Mahmud proposed that Arakanese Indians should either have a separate province covering the area between the Naf and Kaladan Rivers; or if a separate Arakan province is established with Arakanese Buddhists, it should have a confessionalist structure, with Muslims and Buddhists alternating as provincial governor. Tun Tin
Thura U Tun Tin ( my, ထွန်းတင်, ; 2 October 1920 – 1 May 2020) was a Burmese politician who served as Prime Minister of Burma from 1988 to 1990. Biography He was born in Myitkyina in October 1920. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Mandalay College in 1941. He was a ''Thakin'' of Do-Bama-Asiayone and student underground movement leader against the British. In 1942 he joined the Burma Independence Army and attended officer training school (3rd batch) during Japanese occupation of Burma. He continued to serve in Burma army after its independence from the British. He was awarded "Thura" title for his bravery during Battle of Insein against the Karen insurgency in 1949. In 1950 he attended a provost marshal course in the United Kingdom. He later served as provost-marshal of the Burmese Army. Aung Zan Wai
Aung Zan Wai ( my, အောင်ဇံဝေ; 19 November 1893 – 29 December 1984) was an Arakanese politician and one of the most important negotiators and leaders of the historical Panglong Conference in 1947. The signing of Panglong Agreement is now celebrated as a national holiday, Union Day, in Myanmar. Early life He was born in Sittwe, Kyauktaw, British Burma in 1893. He was an ethnic Rakhine.
