The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia ( sr, Министарство финансија, Ministarstvo finansija) is the ministry in the Government of Serbia in charge of finances. The current minister is Siniša Mali, who is in office from 29 May 2018. Ministry's headquarters are located in the Ministry of Finance of Serbia Building. History The new ministry was established on 11 February 1991. The Ministry of Industry which existed from 1991 to 2001, was merged into the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Economy was established on 3 March 2004 after being split from the Ministry of Finance. In 2012, the Ministry of Finance was merged with the Ministry of Economy under Mlađan Dinkić, only to be split once again in 2013. The United Regions of Serbia ( sr, Уједињени региони Србије, Ujedinjeni regioni Srbije; abbr. УРС, URS) was a regionalist, liberal-conservative political party in Serbia. It was founded on 16 May 2010 as a political coalition, and became a unified political party on 21 April 2013. The URS advocated decentralization and was pro-business. The URS received 5.51% of the popular vote in the 2012 parliamentary election. Following the election, the URS formed a coalition government with the Serbian Progressive Party and Socialist Party of Serbia. On 31 July 2013 the URS was ousted from the government and became opposition. On 13 November 2015 the party was removed from the register of political parties and ceased to exist, which was controversial because the party had over a million euros of unpaid debt. Cabinet of Radoman Božović was sworn in on 23 December 1991, after the previous cabinet under Dragutin Zelenović resigned due to economic failure. As a Prime Minister of Serbia he was a hardcore bureaucrat, under whom more than half of Serbian economy was under state ownership. After only 100 days in office, the inflation reached record 10,000%. His term was marked by a scandal in which two ministers from his cabinet were arrested, as well as his frequent arguments with opposition leader Vojislav Šešelj. On 10 February 1993, the new minority cabinet of Socialist Party of Serbia, supported by Serbian Radical Party, was formed as a result of the December 20, 1992 parliamentary elections. After the absolute victory of the Socialists in the Parliamentary Election, Dragutin Zelenović of the Socialist Party of Serbia was elected Prime Minister of Serbia by the Parliament on 15 January 1991.
