Ministry Of Community Development, Youth And Sports
The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) was a ministry of the Government of Singapore tasked with building a "cohesive and resilient" society in Singapore. On 1 November 2012, the MCYS was restructured and became the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF). Several portfolios such as Youth Development and Sports was shifted to a new Ministry, the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). Responsibilities The MCYS pursues social engineering campaigns of varying effectiveness. However, it also tries to encourage widespread youth participation, constructive social activity such as sport and volunteerism. It also tries to encourage acceptance of individual differences among youth. MCYS has produced various campaigns to address issues such as filial piety to parents and the falling birthrate. The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF; ; zh, 社会及家庭发展部; ) is a ministry of the Government of Singapore responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies related to the community infrastructure, programmes and services in Singapore. Hong Kah Group Representation Constituency was a defunct five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the West Region, Singapore, western area of Singapore. The constituency covered the areas of Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Upper Bukit Timah, Jurong West and Lim Chu Kang. Hong Kah GRC was formed in 1988 and eventually dissolved and reformed into Chua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency, Chua Chu Kang GRC in 2011. It had always been held by the People's Action Party. Yeo Cheow Tong (; born 22 June 1947) is a former Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he served in the Cabinet from 1990 to 2006, and was a Member of Parliament (MP) of Hong Kah SMC from 12 December 1984 to 17 August 1988 and MP of Hong Kah GRC from 24 August 1988 to 19 April 2011 for almost 27 years. Bukit Gombak Single Member Constituency (SMC) is a single member constituency in the western area in Singapore. The seat consists of the area surrounding Bukit Gombak MRT station and a few private housing estates such as the Hillview area. It was first formed in 1988 from parts of Bukit Batok SMC and was reinstated in 2025 after being separated from Chua Chu Kang GRC. Seet Ai Mee (; born 31 March 1943) is a former Singaporean politician. A member of the country's governing People's Action Party (PAP), she served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bukit Gombak Single Member Constituency (SMC) from 1988 to 1991. In 1991, she was made the Acting Minister for Community Development. However she lost her seat in Parliament at the 1991 general election when she was defeated by Ling How Doong of the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), and has not been active in politics since then.
