Djibouti, ar, جيبوتي ', french: link=no, Djibouti, so, Jabuuti officially the Republic of Djibouti, is a country in the Horn of Africa, bordered by Somalia to the south, Ethiopia to the southwest, Eritrea in the north, and the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to the east. The country has an area of . In antiquity, the territory, together with Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somaliland, was part of the Land of Punt. Nearby Zeila, now in Somaliland, was the seat of the medieval Adal and Ifat Sultanates. In the late 19th century, the colony of French Somaliland was established following treaties signed by the ruling Dir Somali sultans with the French, and its railroad to Dire Dawa (and later Addis Ababa) allowed it to quickly supersede Zeila as the port for southern Ethiopia and the Ogaden. Abdallah Mohamed Kamil (عبد الله محمد كامل) (born 1936, in Obock) is a Djiboutian politician. He served as Prime Minister of the country from 5 February 1978 to 2 October 1978. Abdallah Mohamed Kamil holds a diploma from the French Sciences Po. He acted as Secrétaire général du gouvernement in 1974. Prior to Djibouti's independence in 1977, Kamil held the posts President of the Government Council (29 July 1976–18 May 1977). He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the first post-independence government, and following the resignation of Prime Minister Ahmed Dini Ahmed, he was appointed as Prime Minister at the head of a new government on 5 February 1978, while remaining Minister of Foreign Affairs and also becoming Minister of Defense. Ali Abdi Farah () (born 1947). is a politician in Djibouti. He belongs to the Habr Awal subclan of the Isaaq. Farah served as diplomatic attaché to the President of the Republic, as head of general administration and consular affairs at the Ministry of External Affairs, and as First Adviser to the Embassy of Djibouti in Tunisia. He was appointed as Minister of Energy, Mines and Natural Resources on June 8, 1995, and was elected to the National Assembly in the December 1997 parliamentary election as the ninth candidate on the joint candidate list of the RPP and the Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy (FRUD). Mahamoud Ali Youssouf ( aa, Macamud Qali Yuusuf, so, Maxamuud Cali Yuusuf, ar, محمود علي يوسف; born 2 September 1965) is a Djiboutian diplomat. He has served in the government of Djibouti as Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2005. Biographies At the end of his schooling, he obtained his baccalaureate at the Djibouti high school in 1985. Between 1985 and 1990, he studied foreign languages applied at the Lumière University Lyon 2. During 1988, he studied business management at the University of Liverpool.
