Minister For Regional Transport And Roads (New South Wales)
The Minister for Regional Transport and Roads is a minister in the Government of New South Wales who has responsibilities for the development of road infrastructure and road pricing, and taxi and hire car policy and regulation in the regional parts of the state. In the second Perrottet ministry since December 2021 it is one of six ministries in the transport sector and the Minister, presently Sam Farraway, works with the Minister for Transport, the Minister for Metropolitan Roads, the Minister for Infrastructure, the Minister for Cities and the Minister for Active Transport. Together they administer the portfolio through the Department of Transport (Transport for NSW) and a range of other government agencies that coordinate funding arrangements for transport operators, including hundreds of local and community transport operators. Sam Farraway
Samuel Jacob Farraway (born 1986) is an Australian politician. Farraway has served as the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads in the Perrottet ministry since December 2021. He has been a National member of the New South Wales Legislative Council since 17 October 2019, when he filled a casual vacancy caused by the resignation of Niall Blair. Background Farraway was born in Bathurst Base Hospital in 1986 to Warren and Leanne Farraway, and is the eldest of five children. Warren Farraway was involved in the automotive trade. In 1988, Warren and Leanne Farraway purchased a Hertz car rental franchise in Bathurst. Sam started to manage the family-run Hertz business in 2004. After operating for 30 years, the Farraway family sold the business in 2018. Regional Minister (New South Wales)
In New South Wales, regional ministers have been appointed since 1995 on a part-time basis as part of the Government of New South Wales. Each minister has other departmental responsibilities, as well as specific responsibilities for one of the regions of New South Wales. The ministries with regional responsibilities first appeared in 2000 during the Carr Labor Government with a position looking after the Central Coast, this would later be expanded by the Iemma Labor Government from 2005 and O'Farrell Coalition Government in 2011 to five different positions including Western Sydney. Second Perrottet Ministry
The Second Perrottet ministry or Second Perrottet–Toole ministry is the 99th ministry of the Government of New South Wales, and is led by Dominic Perrottet, the state's 46th Premier. The Liberal–National coalition ministry was formed on 21 December 2021 from a reshuffle, the first time since Perrottet and Paul Toole were elected as Liberal Party leader and National Party leader respectively in October 2021. The Parliament of New South Wales considers the reshuffled ministry to be a separate and new ministry from the previous Perrottet ministry before the reshuffle. First Perrottet Ministry
The First Perrottet ministry or First Perrottet–Toole ministry is the 98th ministry of the Government of New South Wales, and is led by Dominic Perrottet, the state's 46th Premier. The Liberal–National coalition ministry was formed following the resignation of the previous Premier, Gladys Berejiklian and the election of Perrottet as leader of the Liberal Party on 5 October 2021. Stuart Ayres was elected as deputy party leader. Separate to the Liberal Party leadership election, the National Party also had its own leadership election on 6 October 2021, following the resignation of John Barilaro as party leader, who said it was "the right time for me to hand the reins over". Berejiklian Ministry (2019–2021)
The Second Berejiklian ministry was the 97th ministry of the Government of New South Wales, and was led by Gladys Berejiklian, the state's 45th Premier. It was the second and subsequent of two occasions that Berejiklian served as Premier. The Liberal–National coalition ministry was formed following the 2019 state election where the Berejikilian government was re-elected. The ministry was sworn in by the Governor David Hurley on 2 April 2019. On 1 October 2021, Berejiklian announced that she would be resigning from the post as well as from the Parliament. Minister For Western New South Wales
The Minister for Western New South Wales is a minister in the New South Wales Government with responsibility for the region to the west of the Great Dividing Range in New South Wales, Australia. It was first established in 2011 in the O'Farrell ministry. It was not responsible for any legislation, nor tasked with the management of a department. Ben Franklin (Australian Politician)
Benjamin Cameron Franklin (born 1972/1973) is an Australian politician. He served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from March 2015 until March 2019, representing the National Party. He resigned in 2019 to contest the Legislative Assembly seat of Ballina, but was defeated by the incumbent Greens MP Tamara Smith. He was subsequently appointed in May 2019 to fill the casual vacancy caused by his own resignation. The New South Wales Minister for Regional Youth is a minister in the New South Wales Government with responsibility for providing a whole-of-government approach to regional youth issues in New South Wales, Australia. It was first established in 1956 as the Minister for Child Welfare in the third ministry of Joe Cahill, with the principal responsibility being the care of neglected, orphaned and delinquent children through the Child welfare department. The department had existed since 1881 initially under the Colonial Secretary. The Minister for Regional Health is a minister in the New South Wales Government with responsibility for hospitals and health services in regional New South Wales, Australia.
