Minister For Police (Victoria)
The Victorian Minister for Police, the Minister for Emergency Services, and the Minister for Ambulance Services, are ministers in the Government of Victoria who have responsibilities which includes conduct and regulation of all police and services agencies and personnel and also deals with operational and event planning issues, and for fire and rescue services, and all ambulance services in Victoria, Australia. The current Minister for Police, since 27 June 2022, is Anthony Carbines; the current Minister for Emergency Services, since 23 August 2021, is Jaclyn Symes; and the current Minister for Ambulance Services, since 27 June 2022, is Mary-Anne Thomas. Anthony Carbines
Anthony Richard Carbines (born 15 June 1973) is an Australian politician, who represents the electoral district of Ivanhoe in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. He has been the Minister for Police, Minister for Crime Prevention and Minister for Racing since June 2022. Previously, he was the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers and the Minister for Child Protection and Family Services since December 2021. He is a member of the Labor Party. Carbines studied journalism at RMIT University and then spent five years as a journalist at the ''Geelong Advertiser'' newspaper. Prior to his election, Carbines was chief-of-staff to Labor MP and Minister for Education Bronwyn Pike, whilst also serving as a councillor on the City of Banyule council. Ambulance Victoria
Ambulance Victoria (AV), a Victorian agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, is the statutory provider of pre-hospital emergency care and ambulance services in Victoria. Ambulance Victoria was formed on 1 July 2008 with the merger of the Metropolitan Ambulance Service (MAS), Rural Ambulance Victoria (RAV), and the Alexandra District Ambulance Service (ADAS). Ambulance Victoria has undergone significant reform since 2008. Ambulance Victoria provides emergency medical response to more than 5.9 million people in an area of more than 227,000 square kilometres. During 2015–2016, Ambulance Victoria responded to 843,051 cases. In 2016, it was announced that 450 extra paramedics would be employed. The service is funded by fees for the cost of transport and treatment by paramedics. Members are entitled to free services. Martin Foley (politician)
Martin Peter Foley (born 17 May 1962) is a former Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly between 2007 and 2022, representing Albert Park. He was the Minister for Equality in the First and Second Andrews Ministry between December 2014 and June 2022 and the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services between September 2020 and June 2022. Jenny Mikakos
Jenny Mikakos (born 25 January 1969) is a former Australian politician for the Labor Party who was a Member of the Legislative Council of Victoria from 1999 to 2020. Jill Hennessy (politician)
Jill Hennessy (born 17 March 1972) is a former Australian politician. She has been a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly between February 2010 and November 2022, representing the seat of Altona. Jane Furneaux Garrett (16 March 1973 – 2 July 2022) was an Australian politician. She was the Labor Party member for Brunswick in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 2010 until 2018, when she transferred to the Victorian Legislative Council representing Eastern Victoria. Kimberley Arthur Wells (born 6 August 1958) is an Australian politician. He has been a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 1992, representing first Wantirna and then Scoresby and Rowville. Peter Ryan (politician)
Peter Julian Ryan (born 30 October 1950) is a former Australian politician who was leader of The Nationals in Victoria from 1999 to 2014. He represented the electoral district of Gippsland South from 1992 to 2015, and from 2010 to 2014 was the Deputy Premier of Victoria as well as the Minister for Rural and Regional Development. James Anthony Merlino (born 19 August 1972) is an Australian retired politician who served as the member for Monbulk in the Victorian Legislative Assembly, as a member of the Labor Party.
