Minas Conspiracy (film)
''Minas Conspiracy'' (Portuguese: ''Inconfidência Mineira'') is a 1948 Brazilian historical film directed by Carmen Santos and starring Santos, Rodolfo Mayer and Roberto Lupo. The film portrays the 1789 Inconfidência Mineira, an unsuccessful attempt by some inhabitants of Minas Gerais to declare independence from Portugal. Carmen Santos
Carmen Santos (8 June 1904 – 24 September 1952) was a Portuguese-born Brazilian actress and film producer. Santos began acting at the age of fifteen, and started producing films from 1930 onwards with ''Blood of Minas Gerais''. She founded her own film studio Brasil Vita Filmes in Rio de Janeiro. Bárbara Heliodora Guilhiermina da Silveira ( São João del-Rei, c. 1759 – São Gonçalo do Sapucaí, May 24, 1819) was a Brazilian poet, gold miner and political activist.
