Milwaukee Brewers Radio Network
The Milwaukee Brewers Radio Network (branded as the Brewers Radio Network) is a 33-station radio network in Wisconsin and Michigan that broadcasts baseball games and related programming for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball, and is operated in lieu of the Brewers by Good Karma Brands. The network's flagship is WTMJ/620 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which was purchased by Good Karma Brands in 2018. WTMJ served as the flagship station for the network for all but three years of the Brewers' existence (the exceptions being WEMP in 1970 and WISN in 1981 and 1982). Announcers Hall of Fame member Bob Uecker has been part of the Brewers Radio Network since 1971. Jeff Levering has been part of the Brewers Radio Network since 2015. Lane Grindle has been part of the Brewers Radio Network since 2016. Josh Maurer joined the team to do road games in 2022. Radio Network
There are two types of radio network currently in use around the world: the one-to-many (simplex communication) broadcast network commonly used for public information and mass-media entertainment, and the two-way radio ( duplex communication) type used more commonly for public safety and public services such as police, fire, taxicabs, and delivery services. The 1982 Milwaukee Brewers season was the 13th season for the franchise. The team finished with the best record in MLB (95–67) and won their first and only American League Championship. WISS (1100 kHz) or Oshkosh Air Support is an American AM radio station broadcasting a progressive talk format featuring local news and information as well as statewide programming originating from the Civic Media network. It is licensed to Berlin, Wisconsin, United States, and serves central Wisconsin and the Fox Valley. It used to operate at 1090 kHz. The station is owned by Civic Media LLC, which acquired the station in 2022. WISS changed its music format from classic country to soft oldies on February 2, 2009. Artists heard as part of the new format, according to the station's website, include The Beatles, Carpenters, The Supremes, Barry Manilow, Anne Murray, Frank Sinatra, Kenny Rogers, and Neil Diamond. Berlin, Wisconsin
Berlin is a city in Green Lake and Waushara counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 5,571 at the 2020 census. Of this, 5,435 were in Green Lake County, and only 89 were in Waushara County. The city is located mostly within the Town of Berlin in Green Lake County, with a small portion extending into the Town of Aurora in Waushara County. History In 1845, Nathan H. History WBEV originally signed on as a daytime-only station in 1951 and added nighttime service in December 1979. The station first ran a middle of the road (music), MOR format from the 1970s until 1984, and later adult contemporary for more than a decade beginning in 1984 and continued into the 1990s. Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Beaver Dam is a city in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States, along Beaver Dam Lake and the Beaver Dam River. The population was 16,708 at the 2020 census, making it the largest city primarily located in Dodge County. It is the principal city of the Beaver Dam Micropolitan Statistical area. The city is adjacent to the Town of Beaver Dam. History Beaver Dam was first settled by Thomas Mackie and Joseph Goetschius in 1841, and by 1843 had a population of almost 100. WHBY (1150 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Kimberly, Wisconsin, that serves the Green Bay and Appleton- Oshkosh areas. The station is owned by Woodward Communications and it airs a news/talk radio format. WHBY's studios and microwave transmitter are located on East College Avenue in Appleton. By day, WHBY is powered at 20,000 watts. At night, the power increases to 25,000 watts. WHBY uses a directional antenna with a six-tower array to protect other stations on 1150 AM from interference. Antigo ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Langlade County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 8,100 at the 2020 census. Antigo is the center of a farming and lumbering district, and its manufactures consist principally of lumber, chairs, furniture, sashes, doors and blinds, hubs and spokes, and other wood products. History The name "Antigo" comes from the Ojibwe name for the river that flows through the area, "''Nequi-Antigo-sebi''" meaning "spring river" or "evergreen."
