Milk's Gotta Lotta Bottle
"Milk's gotta lotta bottle" was an advertising slogan used by the British Milk Marketing Board (MMB) in the early 1980s. It followed the " drinka pinta milka day" slogan used by the MMB from 1959. The new slogan was an attempt to halt declining sales particularly among young people. The slogan was used in television and radio advertisements and on various items of merchandise from January 1982. It was judged as successful but was supplanted by "Get Fresh, Get Bottle" by the middle of the decade. Slogan The Milk Marketing Board (MMB) was a body set up in 1933 to promote higher prices for British milk; its powers included regulation of marketing. From 1959 until the late 1970s, it had marketed milk under the slogan " drinka pinta milka day". Milk Marketing Board
The Milk Marketing Board was a producer-run product marketing board, established by the Agricultural Marketing Act 1933, to control milk production and distribution in the United Kingdom. It functioned as buyer of last resort in the milk market in Britain, thereby guaranteeing a minimum price for milk producers. It also participated in the development of milk products, introducing Lymeswold cheese. It was based at Thames Ditton in Surrey. Advertising From the 1950s onwards, there were several memorable advertising campaigns by the Milk Marketing Board. Allinson
Allinson is a brand of bread and of flour made by Allied Bakeries being owned by Associated British Foods History Dr Thomas Allinson was born in the Hulme district of Manchester in 1858. He trained as a medical doctor in Edinburgh, graduating in 1879. He founded the first Allinson mill in 1892 in Bethnal Green as Dr Allinson's ''Natural Food Company''. It was the first to produce wholemeal/wholegrain flour. His slogan was ''Health without Medicine''. Allinson was viewed as an eccentric because of his advocation of vegetarianism (in particular of wholegrain bread) and opposition to many medical practices of the time. Two more mills were bought in Castleford and Newport in Wales. The company was joined with six others to form Allied Bakeries by Willard Garfield Weston in 1935. Got Milk? (stylized as got milk?) is an American advertising campaign encouraging the consumption of milk and dairy products. Created by the advertising agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners for the California Milk Processor Board in 1993, it was later licensed for use by milk processors and dairy farmers. Got Milk? launched in 1993 with the "Aaron Burr" television commercial, directed by Michael Bay. The national campaign, run by MilkPEP (Milk Processor Education Program) added the "got milk?" logo to its "Milk Mustache" ads beginning in 1995. Per Lindstrand (born 8 September 1948) is a Swedish aeronautical engineer, pilot, adventurer and entrepreneur. He is particularly known for his series of record-breaking trans-oceanic hot air balloon flights and, later, attempts to be the first to fly a Rozière balloon around the Earth – all with British entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson. The Dairy Council is a British organisation founded in 1920 to promote the widespread consumption of milk in the UK, and advocate its health benefits. History It was founded on 24 February 1920, and incorporated on 4 February 1925 as the National Milk Publicity Council, situated on Southampton Street, London. From 1983 until 2001 it was known as the National Dairy Council. During WWII it had to curtail its activities as milk was heavily rationed. "Drinka pinta milka day" was an advertising slogan used by the British Milk Marketing Board and Dairy Council. Penny Hughes CBE (born 1959) is a British businesswoman, and the chair of IQ Student Accommodation. She is the former chair of Aston Martin and The Gym Group.
