Anatoly Vasiliyevich Kvashnin (russian: Анатолий Васильевич Квашнин; 15 August 1946 – 7 January 2022) was a Russian military officer, who served as the Chief of the General Staff of Russian Armed Forces from 1997 to 2004, when he was dismissed by President Vladimir Putin. In the period 2004–2010, he was the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District. The abbreviation of military training center is MTC (russian: ВУЦ). History Military training centers appeared with enactment of the Federal Law of 3 August 2018 No.309-FZ which entered into force on 1 January 2019. Previously existing organizational structures conducted military training of students of civilian universities were abolished.
