The Military Band of the National Guard of Georgia ( ka, საქართველოს ეროვნული გვარდიის ორკესტრი) is the main military band of the National Guard of Georgia, and the senior state military band of the Defense Forces of Georgia (known as the Georgian Armed Forces until December 2018). History The history of the orchestra dates back to 1917 when musician Valerian Mizandar assembled 65 musicians in the ninth horse riding range of the Georgian Cadet Corps and created a large military brass orchestra, which had never been before. In 1918, after the declaration of independence of Georgia, it was called the People's Guards Band. Black Sea Jazz Festival
The Black Sea Jazz Festival ( ka, შავი ზღვის ჯაზ-ფესტივალი) is an international jazz festival held annually, traditionally in July, in Batumi and nearby locations on Georgia's Black Sea coast, which, along with Tbilisi Jazz Festival, is one of the country's main jazz events. The festival was founded in 2007. The subsequent editions broadened the scope of the festival to include rock, R&B, soul, disco, funk, and hip-hop and hosted both Georgian and international performers as diverse as George Clinton, Snoop Dogg, Lisa Stansfield, The Prodigy, and Robert Plant. A military band is a group of personnel that performs musical duties for military functions, usually for the armed forces. A typical military band consists mostly of wind and percussion instruments. The conductor of a band commonly bears the title of Bandmaster or Director of Music. The Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia is the central military band of the Armed Forces of Armenia. It is currently part of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Military Band Division of the General Staff of the armed forces. Overview History On 28 January 1992, by order of the Minister of Defense Vazgen Sargsyan, the 1st Airborne Regiment was formed, which also included the first military band in Armenia. Metekhi (Metechi; ka, მეტეხი) is a historic neighborhood of Tbilisi, Georgia, located (42.92N 44.34E) on the elevated cliff that overlooks the Mtkvari river. The neighborhood is home to the eponymous Metekhi Church of Assumption. History The district was one of the earliest inhabited areas on the city's territory. The Rifles
The Rifles is an infantry regiment of the British Army. Formed in 2007, it consists of four Regular battalions and three Reserve battalions, plus a number of companies in other Army Reserve battalions.
