Mikkel Andersen (footballer)
Mikkel Andersen (born 17 December 1988) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Fremad Amager. He has appeared in 17 European matches, amongst others against Rubin Kazan, Napoli, Club Brugge, Legia Warsaw, Manchester United, Slovan Bratislava and FC Krasnodar. Club career Denmark Andersen began his career with Danish club AB and became the youngest goalkeeper to play in Danish senior football. He joined Reading on a two-and-a-half-year contract on 26 January 2007, having played seven times for AB. Reading Andersen signed a loan deal with Torquay United on 26 February 2008, making his debut the same day in a 1–1 draw at home to Altrincham. He returned to Reading having played three times for Torquay during his one-month on loan and looked set to remain with Reading for the remainder of the season. Mikkel F. Andersen is a physicist, Associate Professor at the University of Otago, and an investigator at the Dodd-Walls Centre in Dunedin, New Zealand. His research deals with ways to capture fast-moving atoms. Education Born in Denmark, Anderson did his Master of Science, MSc in physics and mathematics at Aarhus University, graduating in 1999. He then studied laser cooling at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, finishing his Doctor of Philosophy, PhD in the physics of complex systems in 2004. From 2004 to 2006 he did a Postdoctoral researcher, post-doc at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, studying laser cooling with Nobel Prize in Physics, Nobel Laureate William Daniel Phillips, William D. Phillips, inventor of the Zeeman slower. After a year at New York University, he moved to Dunedin and joined the University of Otago Physics Department as a lecturer, rising to Associate Professor.
