Mike Sussman (born June 22, 1975) is an American television writer and producer. He is best known as a creator and executive producer of the TNT crime drama ''Perception'', as well as a writer and producer of the ''Star Trek'' franchise. Early life Sussman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, later moving with his family to Sarasota, Florida. While attending Florida State University, he took a class in screenwriting, penning a spec script for '' Star Trek: The Next Generation'' that obtained him a Writers Guild of America internship with the writing staff of '' Star Trek: Voyager''. Michael A. Sussmann (born 1964) is an American former Assistant United States Attorney, federal prosecutor and a former partner at the law firm Perkins Coie, who focused on privacy and cybersecurity law. Sussmann represented the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and retained CrowdStrike to examine its servers after two Russian hacker groups Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections, penetrated DNC networks and stole information during the 2016 U.S. elections. The Trump administration appointed John Durham as special counsel to investigate the origins of the Crossfire Hurricane (FBI investigation), FBI probe into the many suspicious links between Trump associates and Russian officials and spies. Durham spent three years on the investigation and, in 2021, brought a charge of making false statements against Sussmann, accusing him of having lied to the FBI in one meeting in 2016, with no witnesses.
