The Houston Independent School District (HISD) is the largest public school system in Texas, and the eighth-largest in the United States. Eliu Misael "Michael" Hinojosa (born 1956) was the superintendent for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) and formerly superintendent of the Cobb County School District.
