Mike Hill (athletic Director)
Mike Hill is an American university sports administrator. He is the athletic director at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Career Before arriving in Charlotte, Hill was a member of the University of Florida athletics department for 25 years, where he started as a marketing coordinator in 1993 and eventually moved on to become the executive associate athletics director for external affairs. While at Florida, Hill was part of a search team that hired coaches such as Billy Donovan, Mike White and Jim McElwain. On February 28, 2018, Hill was named the athletics director at Charlotte, replacing Judy Rose, who had served at the post since 1990 before announcing her retirement in January 2018. An athletic director (commonly "athletics director" or "AD") is an administrator at many American clubs or institutions, such as colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, who oversees the work of coaches and related staff involved in athletic programs. Position at institution Modern athletic directors are often in a precarious position, especially at the larger institutions. Although technically in charge of all of the coaches, they are often far less well-compensated and also less famous, with few having their own television and radio programs as many coaches now do. Jim McElwain
James Frank McElwain (born March 1, 1962) is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at Central Michigan University. He previously served as the head coach at Florida from 2015 to 2017, and Colorado State from 2012 to 2014, where he was named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year in 2014. He also served as offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2008 to 2011. Early life McElwain was born in Missoula, Montana in 1962. He played quarterback at Sentinel High School in Missoula where he was chosen as an all-state quarterback. Metro Conference
The Metropolitan Collegiate Athletic Conference, popularly known as the Metro Conference, was an NCAA Division I athletics conference, so named because its six charter members were all in urban metropolitan areas, though its later members did not follow that pattern. The conference was centered in the Upper South with some strength in the Deep South. The conference never sponsored football, although most of its members throughout its history had Division I-A football programs (from 1983 to 1991, all Metro schools had independent football programs). The 2019 Charlotte 49ers football team represented the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The 49ers played their home games at Jerry Richardson Stadium in Charlotte, NC, and competed in the East Division of Conference USA (C–USA). They were led by first-year head coach Will Healy. Judith Wilkins Rose is the former Director of Athletics for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte 49ers. Playing career Rose played women's basketball for the Winthrop Eagles from 1970 to 1974. Education Rose graduated from Winthrop University in 1974 with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. She received a Master's degree in Physical Education from the University of Tennessee in 1975. Coaching career While at Tennessee, Rose was a graduate assistant under legendary women's basketball coach Pat Summitt. Michael Emerson White (born March 2, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is the head coach of the University of Georgia men's basketball team. Prior to accepting the job at Georgia, White was the head coach of the Florida Gators from 2015 to 2022 and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from 2011 to 2015. Playing career White played at Ole Miss from 1995 to 1999. In 1995, White began his four-year collegiate career as a freshman guard for the Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team.
