Mike Gibbons (rugby Union)
Eric de Courcy "Mike" Gibbons (20 October 1913 — 20 August 1962) was an Australian rugby union international. Born in Sydney, Gibbons was a product of St. Leonard's Grammar School. Gibbons, a 165 cm scrum-half, won a first-grade premiership with Northern Suburbs Rugby Club, Northern Suburbs in 1933, scoring a decisive try in the grand final. He featured in another premiership in 1935 and made his NSW representative debut that year against Queensland. In 1936, Gibbons was called up by the Australia national rugby union team, Wallabies for the 1936 Australia rugby union tour of New Zealand, tour of New Zealand, playing in all three Tests, two against the All Blacks and one against NZ Maori. He was recalled after three years to vice captain the Wallabies on the 1939–40 Australia rugby union tour of Britain and Ireland, 1939–40 tour of Britain, but the trip had to be abandoned two days after they arrived, with war declared on Germany. Mosman, New South Wales
Mosman is a suburb on the Lower North Shore region of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Mosman is located 8 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of the Municipality of Mosman. Localities In February 1997, a notice was published in the Government Gazette by Mosman Council advising that they had assigned ''Mosman'' as the only suburb in the Mosman Local Government Area. However, Mosman Council decided that residents should continue to be allowed to use the following traditional locality names if they wished: * Balmoral * Beauty Point * Clifton Gardens * Georges Heights * Spit Junction * The Spit History Mosman is named after Archibald Mosman (1799–1863) and his twin brother George, who moved onto a land grant in the area in 1831.
