Mike Collins (ice Hockey)
Mike Collins (born May 25, 1990) is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for ERC Ingolstadt in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career Collins played collegiate hockey with the Merrimack Warriors men's ice hockey, Merrimack Warriors in the NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey, NCAA Men's Division I Hockey East conference. In his Junior (education year), junior year, Collins' outstanding play was rewarded with a selection to the 2012-13 All-Hockey East First Team. After making his professional debut in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins and the Iowa Wild, Collins signed abroad in Germany with DEL2 club, EC Kassel Huskies on July 31, 2014. In the 2014-15 DEL2 season, 2014–15 season, Collins impressed with the Huskies, scoring at a dominant level with 81 points in just 51 games to lead the club to a third-place finish in the regular season. DEL2 (also known as DEL II) is the second tier ice hockey league in Germany, below the '' Deutsche Eishockey Liga'' (DEL) and ahead of the '' Oberliga''. Founded in 2013 to replace the defunct '' 2nd Bundesliga'', DEL2 is administered by ESBG, under licence from DEB. History The DEL2 league was founded on 2 May 2013 by Eishockeyliga Betriebsgesellschaft mbH. The Division I AHCA All-American Teams are an annual honor bestowed by the American Hockey Coaches Association to the college hockey players judged to be the top performers in their division. Each team is composed of at least one goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards on ice hockey programs. At least one all-star team has been named by the since the start of NCAA tournament play in 1947–48 after the conclusion of either the regular season or the conference tournaments. The American Hockey Coaches Association was formed in 1947 in Boston. The founding members coached college ice hockey but membership has grown to include coaches at every level of the sport from youth hockey to professional ice hockey, although the organization maintains a focus on the collegiate game. The All-Hockey East Teams are composed of all players from teams that are members of Hockey East, an NCAA Division I hockey-only conference. Each year, from the 1984–85 season onward, at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season, the head coaches of each team vote for players to be placed on each all-conference team. The First, Second, and Rookie Teams have been named in each ECAC Hockey season, except for 1985–86, in which no Rookie Team was named. The all-conference teams are composed of one goaltender, two defensemen, and three forwards.
