Miguel Gomes (born 1972) is a Portuguese film director. He studied cinema at Lisbon Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema). Biography Trained at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (Superior School of Theatre and Film Lisbon), Gomes worked initially as a film critic and author of theoretical writings on cinema. His films include '' The Face You Deserve'' (2004), ''Our Beloved Month of August'' (2008) and ''Tabu'' (2012). ''Tabu'' was a winner of the Alfred Bauer Prize for Artistic Innovation and the FIPRESCI Jury Prize at the 2012 Berlin International Film Festival. His 2015 film '' Arabian Nights'' was screened as part of the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Miguel Gomes (; born Miguel Barata de Andrade Gomes in 1972 in Lisbon) is a Portuguese people, Portuguese fencing master. He graduated in History at the University of Lisbon, and trained and qualified as ''Maître d'armes'' at the Centre National de Formation à l'Escrime in France. Specialized in Stage combat with the French Master François Rostain (Comédie-Française and Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique) and fencing for cinema with the Master Claude Carliez. In 2000, won the World Championship of Artistic Fencing in Vichy (as a Choreographer) and in 2002 obtained the title of Portuguese National Champion (as an Athlete - Teams). From 1998 to 2003 represented Portugal in various World Cups and European Clubs Champions Cups and was ranked worldwide with the International Fencing Federation (FIE). Miguel Gomes (born February 29, 1980) is a Portuguese professional stock car racing driver who has competed full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series. Racing career In 2021, it was announced that Gomes would drive the No. 46 Chevrolet for Marko Stipp Motorsport for the full NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in the EuroNASCAR 2 division, whilst also being a part of both the Rookie Trophy and Legend Trophy. He would go on to finish 15th in the final standings and third in the Rookie Trophy with a best finish of ninth at the second race at Autodrom Most. On January 6, 2022, he would be retained by Stipp for the 2022 season following a contract extension. He would finish 16th in the final standings with three top-ten finishes including a best result of 9th at the season opening race at Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Nuno Miguel Gomes Bentes Lampreia (born 27 September 1978), known as Gomes, is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a defender. He amassed Segunda Liga totals of 230 games and 27 goals over 11 seasons, mainly with Varzim. Playing career Gomes was born in Lisbon. An unsuccessful youth graduate from Sporting CP's famed youth system, he made his professional debut with F.C. Felgueiras, moving in January 2001 to S.C. Campomaiorense in what would be his first Primeira Liga experience, with relegation. Gomes then returned for the following seven seasons to the Segunda Liga, with G.D. Chaves (two years) and Varzim SC.
