Mieke De Boer
Mieke de Boer (born 11 January 1980 in Maastricht, Limburg) is a former darts player from the Netherlands, who was nicknamed Bambie. Career In 2002 she won the Women's World Darts Trophy, beating Karin Krappen in the quarter-finals and then Francis Hoenselaar in the semi-finals before beating Crissy Manley in the final. She also won the British Open Ladies Singles the same year. A year later, de Boer was the youngest competitor at the BDO World Darts Championship in Frimley Green and reached the semi-finals, beating Linda Rogers-Pickett in the quarter-finals before her run was ended by Ladies World Champion Trina Gulliver. She returned to the Lakeside a year later but lost in the quarter-finals to Hoenselaar. Her last major tournament was the 2005 World Darts Trophy, losing in the quarter-finals to Karin Krappen. Frimley Green
Frimley Green is a large village and ward of in the Borough of Surrey Heath in Surrey, England, approximately southwest of central London. It is south of the town of Frimley. Lakeside Country Club was the national venue for the BDO international darts competition. It was played yearly in the village between 1986 and 2019. The nearest railway stations are Frimley on the line between Ascot and Aldershot, Farnborough North on the North Downs Line and Farnborough (Main) on the South West Main Line. Trina Gulliver
Catrina Elizabeth Gulliver (born 30 November 1969) is an English professional darts player. She is the 10-time Women's World Professional Darts Champion of the British Darts Organisation (BDO). Her nickname is Golden Girl and in 2003, she was named as the BBC Midlands Sports Personality of the Year. Early life The daughter of publicans, Gulliver was born in Warneford Hospital in Leamington Spa, and was brought up in the small town of Southam in Warwickshire. She trained as a carpenter and joiner, and later taught carpentry and joinery at Mid-Warwickshire College, Leamington Spa. BDO World Darts Championship
The WDF World Darts Championship is a world championship competition in darts, organised by the World Darts Federation. It would previously organised by the British Darts Organisation (BDO), who held it 43 times from 1978 to 2020. The championship was first held at the Heart of the Midlands Nightclub in the English city of Nottingham. The following year it moved to the Jollees Cabaret Club, Stoke, where it stayed until 1985. From 1986 to 2019, it was held at the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, Surrey. In 2020, the tournament was held at Indigo, part of the O2 entertainment district in London. Until the split in darts, it was the only World Darts Championship tournament.
