Midland Mall
Midland Mall is an enclosed shopping mall serving Midland, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1991, the mall's anchor stores are Target, Fantastic Finds, Barnes & Noble, Dunham's Sports, and Planet Fitness. A fourth anchor store spot, once occupied by Sears, lies empty. The mall is managed by the Kohan Retail Investment Group. History Richard E. Jacobs group built the Midland Mall, which was originally anchored by J. C. Penney, Elder-Beerman, Target, and Sears. Barnes & Noble opened in the JCPenney wing in 2003. A Steve & Barry's store was added in the same wing and closed in 2008. The space became Dunham's Sports in 2011. Although Midland Mall is the smallest of the three malls in the Tri-Cities (which also comprises Bay City and Saginaw), it also had the lowest vacancy rate of the three. Midland, Michigan
Midland is a city in and the county seat of Midland County, Michigan. The city's population was 42,547 as of the 2020 census. It is the principal city of the Midland Micropolitan Statistical Area, part of the larger Saginaw-Midland-Bay City Combined Statistical Area. History By the late 1820s, Midland was established as a fur trading post of the American Fur Company supervised by the post at Saginaw. Here agents purchased furs from Ojibwe trappers. Bon-Ton Holdings Inc. is an American online retailer and former department store chain founded in 1898. After rapid expansion in the 1990s and early 2000s, the original company had financial troubles, ultimately filing for bankruptcy in 2018 before being sold and liquidated. Midland Daily News
The ''Midland Daily News'' is a daily newspaper which serves Midland County, Michigan. The offices for the paper are located at 219 East Main Street in downtown Midland; the paper is widely circulated around Midland County. The newspaper also prints the school newspaper for Herbert Henry Dow High School, ''The Update''. The ''Daily News'' is the last daily newspaper in the Tri-Cities left with a regular print schedule, since the ''Bay City Times'' and ''Saginaw News'' cut back their print editions to three times a week in June 2009. Younkers Inc. is an American online retailer and former department store chain founded as a family-run dry goods business in 1856 in Keokuk, Iowa. The retailer had evolved over more than 150 years to include a presence in locations throughout Iowa and bordering states in the Midwest region of the United States. It is pronounced yong-kers.
