Middlefork, Clinton County, Indiana
Middlefork is an unincorporated community in Warren Township, Clinton County, Indiana. It is named for the Middle Fork of Wildcat Creek which runs along the north side of the town. History Middlefork was founded along the Michigan Road, an important early Indiana thoroughfare, but the site never gained a railroad line and remained a small social and business center for local residents. The town's first store was operated by William Sims, then by John Evans. Its first postmaster was John Purdum. Middlefork Township, Vermilion County, Illinois
Middlefork Township is a township in Vermilion County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,458 and it contained 628 housing units. History Middlefork Township was one of the eight townships created in 1851 and included all the land that later became Butler and Ford townships. The first settlers in the township were Samuel Partlow and his wife and four sons, who arrived from Kentucky in 1829. A harsh winter caused the loss of all their cattle, and there was little game available for food; Samuel died that year and the family returned to Kentucky. However, the next year, they came back again. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 99.97%) is land and (or 0.03%) is water. Middlefork Methodist Episcopal Church
Middlefork Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church on the South of US 169 on the east side of Middle Fork, Grand Road in Redding, Iowa, United States. It is now known as Middlefork United Methodist Church. History Methodist classes were organized at the Center (renamed Rose Hill) and Clipper schoolhouses in the early 1870s. The impetus to establish Middlefork Church was a six-week revival held under the leadership of the Rev. T.G. Aten and conducted by the Rev. Bill McFarland in the Spring of 1886. The schoolhouses were no longer large enough to hold the number of people who attended services. Property adjacent to the centrally located Middle Fork Cemetery was chosen for the new congregation to build a church, and all the funds necessary to build the church were in hand when construction began. with Stone for the foundation was quarried on the Riley Motsinger farm a few miles north of Allendale, Missouri.
