Michael John Walker Jr. (born 10 April 1945) is an English former professional footballer and coach. Early and personal life Walker was born in Harrogate, and grew up in Doncaster. His father Mickey Sr. had played for Doncaster Rovers, Bradford City, Bradford Park Avenue and York City. As a teenager he played cricket, trialling for Yorkshire Schoolboys at the age of 15, and later playing for England Schoolboys. He is married to Carol. Career Playing career After being told he was too short (at 5 ft 7) to play football by Doncaster Rovers, Walker played youth football with Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United. After a spell in non-league football with Bourne Town, he turned professional with Bradford City in October 1964.Frost, p. 409 He made 20 appearances in the Football League (scoring 1 goal) for Bradford City, before returning to Rotherham United in March 1966. Mick Walker (footballer, Born 1940)
Mick Walker (born 27 November 1940) is an English former football player and manager. As a player, he started his career as an apprentice with Nottingham Forest and played non-league football for several clubs including Kettering Town and Matlock Town. He later became manager of the reserve team at Ilkeston Town before being appointed first-team manager in 1971 following the departure of Dave Agnew. Six months later, Walker was hired as manager of the Singapore national team. He joined Burton Albion as manager in 1976 and spent two years in charge of the club, later joining the coaching staff at Notts County. Walker had a spell as manager of Notts County, succeeding Neil Warnock in January 1993. He was fired in September 1994. Michael John Gilbert Walker (30 November 1942 – 8 March 2012), commonly known as Mick Walker, was acknowledged as one of the world's leading motorcycle authorities. Walker was a British former motorcycle dealer and racer with a particular interest in Italian motorcycles, who played a key role in popularising the Ducati marque in Britain, but was also an expert on numerous other models of motorcycle dating from the 1950s to the present. He was the writer of over 130 published books about motorcycles and motorcycle racing, and an autobiography. Early life Walker was born 30 November 1942 in Wretton, Norfolk, England and was educated at Downham Market Secondary Modern School.
