Mick O'Connell (hurler)
Michael Aloysius O'Connell (20 April 1900 – 27 January 1966) was an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Cork, O'Connell first arrived on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Cork senior team before later joining the junior side. He made his senior debut during the 1921 championship. O'Connell subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won three All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, O'Connell won one Railway Cup medal. At club level he was a five-time championship medallist with St Finbarr's. Throughout his career O'Connell made 27 championship appearances. He retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 1934 championship. St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club
St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Togher area of Cork city, County Cork, Ireland. St Finbarr's, who play in royal blue and gold jerseys, are the only club in Ireland to win All-Ireland club championships in both hurling and football. The club has won Cork County Senior Championships in every decade except the first decade of the 21st century. This record was almost upheld in 2009 when the club reached the final in the Cork County Senior Football Championship, only to lose out by a point to Clonakilty. Between 1980 and 1982, the club won three Cork County Hurling Championships in a row. This feat had not been repeated until Imokilly did so between 2017 and 2019. Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), cerebral venous and sinus thrombosis or cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), is the presence of a blood clot in the dural venous sinuses (which drain blood from the brain), the cerebral veins, or both. Symptoms may include severe headache, visual symptoms, any of the symptoms of stroke such as weakness of the face and limbs on one side of the body, and seizures, which occur in around 40% of patients. The diagnosis is usually by computed tomography (CT scan) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to demonstrate obstruction of the venous sinuses. Lory Meagher
Lorenzo Ignatius "Lory" Meagher (25 May 1899 – 17 May 1973) was an Irish hurler who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Kilkenny county team. Born in Tullaroan, County Kilkenny, Meagher arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-four when he first linked up with the Kilkenny senior team. He made his debut in the 1924 championship. Meagher went on to play a key part for more than a decade, and won three All-Ireland medals, eight Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. An All-Ireland runner-up on four occasions, Meagher also captained the team to All-Ireland victory in 1935. Meagher represented the Leinster inter-provincial team at various times throughout his career, winning two Railway Cup medals in 1927 and 1933. Eudie Coughlan
Eugene "Eudie" Coughlan (26 August 1900 – 4 January 1987) was an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Cork senior team spanned thirteen seasons from 1919 until 1931. Born in Cork, Coughlan was raised in a strong hurling family. His father as well as several of his paternal and maternal uncles all won All-Ireland medals with Cork in the early years of the championship. Coughlan first played competitive hurling with the Blackrock club, making his senior debut in 1918. In a hugely successful club career, he lined out in twelve county finals, winning seven county senior championship medals. After impressing on the club scene, Coughlan came to prominence at inter-county level at the age of nineteen when he was added to the Cork senior panel in 1919. Michael John "Gah" Ahern (22 May 1905 – 30 December 1946) was an Irish hurler who played as a full-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Ballintemple, Cork, Ahern first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Crab Lane National School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Cork junior team before later joining the senior side. He made his senior debut during the 1925 championship. Ahern immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won four All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and two National Hurling League medals.
