Mick Doohan's Motocoaster
''Motocoaster'' is a long motorcycle roller coaster at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The A$10 million ride, constructed by Intamin and opened to the public in September 2007, was associated with Australian motorcyclist Mick Doohan until 2022. It is the first motorcycle coaster in Australia, the first Intamin MotorBike Launch Coaster worldwide, and the first to feature life-size replicas of 500 cc racing bikes. History Construction The coaster was constructed in the Rivertown section of the park, on the site of the Avis Vintage Cars ride, requiring their relocation to the Australian Wildlife Experience section of the park. 2007 Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2007 Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix was the fifteenth round of the 2007 MotoGP championship. It was held on 21–23 September at Twin Ring Motegi, Motegi, Tochigi. Loris Capirossi won the MotoGP race, his last career victory, as well the last victory for a Ducati rider other than Casey Stoner until the 2016 Austrian motorcycle Grand Prix. Jet Rescue
Jet Rescue is a steel launched jet ski roller coaster made by Intamin that opened on 26 December 2008 at Sea World on the Gold Coast, Australia. The ride has a very twisted and banked layout with several fast directional changes. Unlike other family launch roller coasters, Jet Rescue features two launches. The ride features a unique jet ski style of seating with lap bar restraints. The ride is based upon Sea World's Research and Rescue Foundation performing the rescue of a sea lion. History In the first half of 2008, a small area of the Sea World Ski Lake north of the bridge was filled with sand to aid in the construction of a new roller coaster. The Sea World Train was closed to give vehicles access to the construction site and remains closed to this day. By July, some of the footings of the roller coaster were put into place. Goudurix
Goudurix is a steel roller coaster located in Parc Astérix in France. The Vekoma-built ride jointly held the European record for the greatest number of inversions upon its opening in 1989. Margaret Majella Keech (born 18 September 1954) is a former Australian Labor Party politician who served as a minister in the Cabinet of Queensland, the Government Whip, and the Member of Parliament for Albert between 2001 and 2012. Early life and career Prior to entering Parliament, Keech was a language and learning advisor for international students, ranging from kindergartners to post-doctoral students at the Queensland University of Technology.
