Michigan Wolverines Men's Gymnastics
The Michigan Wolverines men's gymnastics team represents the University of Michigan and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Wolverines have won seven NCAA championships, 18 Big Ten championships and have been invited to 31 NCAA tournaments. Since 1999, Michigan has finished in the Super Six at the NCAA tournament in 11 of 12 seasons. In 2013, Michigan won its fifth NCAA men's gymnastics team championship. The following year, Michigan repeated as National Champions for its sixth NCAA men's gymnastics team championship. Sam Mikulak
Samuel Anthony Mikulak (born October 13, 1992) is a retired American artistic gymnast. He is a six-time U.S. national all-around champion (2013–2016, 2018–2019), the 2018 World bronze medalist on high bar, and a three-time Olympian (2012, 2016, and 2020). He is also an eight-time NCAA champion, winning the team, individual all-around and several individual event titles at the 2011, 2013 and 2014 NCAA Men's Gymnastics championships. Early years Mikulak was born in Huntington Beach, California, and attended Corona del Mar High School. He is of Polish descent. His parents both competed in gymnastics at the University of California, Berkeley, and started Sam in gymnastics at age two. Gymnastics at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was held in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. After months of waiting due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summer Olympics were finally held in 2021 at the Olympic Gymnastic Centre in Tokyo. Gymnastics At The 2012 Summer Olympics
Three gymnastics disciplines were contested at the 2012 Olympic Games in London: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The trampoline events were held at the North Greenwich Arena (normally called The O2 Arena) from 3 to 4 August; the artistic events were also held at the North Greenwich Arena, from 28 July to 7 August. The rhythmic gymnastics events took place at Wembley Arena from 9 to 12 August. A total of 54 medals were awarded across the three disciplines. Gilbert Larose
Gilbert Larose (also known as Gil LaRose) was a gymnast who was named NCAA all-around champion for the University of Michigan in 1963 and competed for Canada in the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. Larose was the first University of Michigan gymnast to win the NCAA all-around title. Early life Larose was born in Montreal on 13 September 1942. He attended Immaculate Conception high school, where he played right wing on the school's hockey team. He enjoyed the trampoline and experimented with other gymnastics equipment, quickly becoming a skilled gymnast and winning the Novice Division of the Canadian National Gymnastics Championship in 1957. Paul Wojciech Juda (born July 7, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast. He is currently competing for the Michigan Wolverines in NCAA gymnastics and is a member of the U.S. men's national team. Cameron Bock (born September 18, 1998) is an American artistic gymnast. He competes as a member of the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team. Quazi Syque Caesar (born August 22, 1990) is a former artistic gymnast and current coach. He represented Bangladesh at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and was a captain of the Michigan Wolverines men's gymnastics team. Chris Cameron (born January 16, 1989) is an American artistic gymnast. The Big Ten Conference (stylized B1G, formerly the Western Conference and the Big Nine Conference) is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the United States.
