Michele Da Verona
Michele da Verona (Michele di Zenone) (1470, in Verona – 1536/1544) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance period. He is different but a near contemporary of Zenone Veronese (1484 -1542). Biography He was a contemporary of Paolo Moranda Cavazzola, and may have assisted him in the decorative work for San Bernardino in Verona. Inside the portal of San Stefano, Milan, is a large ''Crucifixion'' signed by him in 1500, and formerly in the Refectory of San Giorgio in Verona. Sant'Anastasia is a church of the Dominican Order in Verona, northern Italy. In Gothic style, it is located in the most ancient part of the city, near the Ponte Pietra. History The current church was started in 1280 and completed in 1400, designed by the Dominican friars Fra' Benvenuto da Imola and Fra' Nicola da Imola. It took its name from a pre-existing temple built by King Theoderic the Great upon which was built the actual church. Since 1307, it is in fact co-entitled to St. Peter of Verona, martyr and co-patron of the city. Consecrated only in 1471, until 1808 the church was held by the Dominicans. The 72 m tall belltower had four bells in 1460, the fifth was added in 1650. Jacopo Bellini
Jacopo Bellini (c. 1400 – c. 1470) was one of the founders of the Renaissance style of painting in Venice and northern Italy. His sons Gentile and Giovanni Bellini, and his son-in-law Andrea Mantegna, were also famous painters. Few of Bellini's paintings still exist, but his surviving sketch-books (one in the British Museum and one in the Louvre) show an interest in landscape and elaborate architectural design and are his most important legacy. Santa Maria in Vanzo is a Renaissance-style, Roman Catholic church in Padua, region of Veneto, Italy. History The church was first rebuilt in 1436 by Domenico Campolongo, a local aristocrat; the church was enlarged in 1525. An inventory in 1869 noted that the first altar on the left had a canvas depicting ''Enthroned Virgin and St Jerome among other Saints'' by Lambert Sustris.
