Michael Benjamin Wang (born May 12, 1981) is an American artist based in New York. Wang's work uses systems that operate at a global scale as media for art: climate change, species distribution, resource allocation and the global economy. His works include ''Carbon Copies'', an exhibition linking the production of artworks to the release of greenhouse gases, ''World Trade'', a series tracing the trade in steel from the World Trade Center following the attacks of September 11, 2001; and ''Extinct in the Wild'', a project that brings species that no longer exist in nature, but that persist under human care, into spaces of art. Wang Quanze (; born June 8, 2000), known as Michael Wang, is a Chinese basketball player for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He was a member of the China national under-19 basketball team, China national under-19 team in 2018, and (while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania) played college basketball for the Penn Quakers men's basketball, University's team named the Quakers, which plays in the Ivy League. Early life Wang was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi, but spent part of his childhood in Beijing, where he played basketball at Beijing No. 4 High School, Beijing No. 4 Junior High School. Michael Wang is a professional poker player, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, now living in Livingston, New Jersey. He learned to play poker as a teenager by mainly playing online. Since 2009 he is playing in all types of live poker tournaments. Poker career Michael Wang has been playing poker professionally since the 2010s and already has achieved a lot in his career. Wang's first cash ever, dates back in January 2009, when he was playing at $1,700 No Limit Hold'em tournament and finished 1st, taking home $32,685. During 2010, he managed to finish in the money in few other tournaments. For 2011 there is no actual track for his performances. He appeared on the poker stage again in January 2012. He did cashed 11 times from various tournaments, including his first WSOP participation. Michael Wang is a distinguished fellow, a senior scientist, and director of the Systems Assessment Center of the Energy Systems Division at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory. He is also a faculty associate in the Energy Policy Institute at The University of Chicago; a senior fellow at the Northwestern-Argonne Institute of Science and Engineering at Northwestern University.
