Mikael Pedersen
Mikael Pedersen (25 October 1855 Fløng – 22 October 1929, Bispebjerg) was a Denmark, Danish inventor much associated with the England, English town of Dursley. He is chiefly known today for the highly distinctive Pedersen bicycle. His story is one of rags to riches and back again, and he was largely forgotten in his native country, but fans of the Pedersen bicycle arranged for him to be reburied and a memorial erected at Dursley. Inventions Pedersen invented and patented a novel corn threshing, thresher capable of separating corn from chaff, a transmission system, a gear system for horse drawn mills and a braking system for waggons, among other ideas. He was also musical, and although his primary trade was that of a smith, he was listed as a musician in the 1890 census. Michael Refstrup Pedersen (born 1 March 1986) is a Danish cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born at Herning. Early career Having played cricket since he was nine and represented Denmark at Under-19 level, Pedersen made his full debut for Denmark in a List A match against Northamptonshire in the 2005 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy at Svanholm Park, Brøndby. It was an unsuccessful debut for Pedersen, with him contributing 4 runs in Denmark's total of 56, before he became one of Charl Pietersen's six wickets. Later that year, he appeared in the ICC Trophy in Ireland. The International Cricket Council afforded List A status to these matches, with him making seven appearances during the tournament. The Books Are My Bag Readers' Awards are annual literary awards presented by the Booksellers Association in the UK and Ireland since 2016. They are sponsored by National Book Tokens. History and administration The awards were launched at the 2016 Booksellers Association conference with the aim of being the first literary awards voted for by the public. A shortlist of books are voted for by bookshops who are members of the Booksellers Association, and the winner of each category is chosen by an online public vote, with over 40,000 people voting in the 2017 awards. The ceremony takes place in November in Foyles bookshop in London. In 2016, the awards are presented in seven categories of Fiction, Non-Fiction, Biography & Autobiography, Children's, Beautiful Book, Breakthrough Author and Readers' Choice. Michael Pedersen Friis
Michael Pedersen Friis (22 October 1857 – 24 April 1944) was a Danish civil servant who served as Prime Minister of Denmark from 5 April 1920 to 5 May 1920. Biography M.P. Friis became cand.jur. from the University of Copenhagen in 1883. From 1904 to 1911 was head of department in the Ministry of Justice. He was from 1911 to 1923 he was the public trustee of Denmark. On 29 March King Christian X had dismissed Prime Minister Carl Theodor Zahle and replaced him with Otto Liebe, but this use of power by the king triggered the Easter Crisis of 1920 (''Påskekrisen 1920'') and Otto Liebe resigned 5 days later. Michael Pedersen Friis was then appointed head of a caretaker cabinet (''forretningsministerium'') to lead Denmark until elections could be held and a new government appointed.
