Michael Fraser (footballer)
Michael Alan Fraser (born 8 October 1983) is a Scottish former football goalkeeper. During his career he played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Motherwell, Montrose, Birkirkara, Ross County and Elgin City. Club career Fraser was born in Inverness, and signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2002. He was previously a talented shinty player with Glenurquhart Shinty Club but gave up the sport to pursue his professional ambitions. His first team breakthrough came when Mark Brown signed for Celtic in January 2007. Fraser made a memorable save in a 3–2 home win over Celtic the following season and was first-choice at Inverness until he conceded five goals against Rangers on 1 November 2008, after which he was dropped in favour of Ryan Esson. Fraser signed a pre-contract with Motherwell on 19 January 2009, and joined the club in the summer. Michael Fraser (born June 28, 1984) is a Canadian former professional basketball player currently working as an assistant coach for the Brampton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Baptist Bison. Professional career In July 2013, he signed with KK Igokea. He was released in October after playing only one game. He then returned to Byblos Club for the rest of the season. In November 2014, he signed with Homenetmen Beirut for the 2014–15 season. On September 1, 2015, he signed with Polfarmex Kutno of the Polish Basketball League. After two seasons with Polish club, in September 2017, he returned to Lebanon and signed with Sagesse Club. Richard Michael Fraser, Baron Fraser of Kilmorack, CBE (28 October 1915 – 1 July 1996) was a British Conservative Party political administrator. The Conservative historian Lord Blake wrote that Fraser "will go down to history as a figure comparable only to Gorst under Disraeli or the famous Captain Middleton under Salisbury". Life Fraser was born in Aberdeen, the son of Dr Thomas Fraser CBE DSO TD DL, and of Maria-Theresia Kayser, from Hanover. He was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School, Fettes College, and King's College, Cambridge, where he took a degree in History. During World War II, he served with the Royal Artillery, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (Military Division) in 1945. After the war, Fraser joined the Conservative Research Department (CRD), serving as its Director between 1959 and 1964 and its Chairman between 1970 and 1974.
