Michael D'Antonio
Michael D'Antonio (born May 11, 1955) is an American author, journalist, and commentator on CNN. He shared the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting with a team of ''Newsday'' reporters for their coverage of the Baby Jane Doe Case. He has written over a dozen books, including '' Never Enough'', a 2015 biography of Donald Trump, and ''A Consequential President'', a 2017 book on the Presidency of Barack Obama. His book ''Mortal Sins'' was a 2014 Edgar Award nominee. D'Antonio was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1977. He wrote for the ''Dover Democrat'' in New Hampshire from 1976 to 1977, and the ''Portland Press Herald'' in Maine from 1977 to 1983 before joining ''Newsday'' as a writer, where he worked from 1983 to 1990. The Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting is awarded to an example of "local reporting that illuminates significant issues or concerns." This Pulitzer Prize was first awarded in 1948. Like most Pulitzers the winner receives a $15,000 award. History The Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting was first awarded from 1948 until 1952. Beginning in 1953, two awards for Local Reporting were given out by the committee, for Local Reporting, Edition Time and for Local Reporting, No Edition Time. In 1964 the Local Reporting Pulitzers were again renamed to "Local Investigative Specialized Reporting" and "Local General or Spot News Reporting." Bruce McNall
Bruce Patrick McNall (born April 17, 1950) is an American former Thoroughbred racehorse owner, sports executive, and convicted felon who once owned the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). McNall claimed to have made his initial fortune as a coin collector, though Metropolitan Museum of Art director Thomas Hoving claimed he smuggled art antiquities as the partner of Robert E. Hecht. In the 1980s McNall produced several Hollywood movies, including '' The Manhattan Project'' and ''Weekend at Bernie's''. McNall bought a 25 percent stake in the Kings from Jerry Buss in 1986, and bought an additional 24 percent in 1987 to become the team's largest shareholder.
