Michael Butler (musician)
Michael Butler (born December 24, 1961) is an American musician and podcaster from San Francisco, California, United States. He is well known for his popular podcast, ''The Rock and Roll Geek Show'', one of the earliest podcasts and a featured program on Mevio (formerly PodShow), a podcasting start-up and Butler's employer from late 2005 to 2013 as Director of Programming. He left that company to start his own multimedia video production company, "MySourceTV", with business partner Laura Rose. Butler plays bass guitar and performs vocals with his own band, American Heartbreak. He also previously played bass in the Florida hardcore band Stevie Stiletto, and thrash metal band Exodus. Since 2006 he has also been playing with the San Francisco band Jetboy, although he was kicked out of the band live on his podcast in early November 2009 after expressing disappointment and frustration that the drummer had just quit. ''American Heartbreak'' is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Zach Bryan, released on May 20, 2022, through Belting Bronco and Warner Records. It is a triple album and Bryan's major-label debut. The album was preceded by six singles, including Bryan's most successful single to date, " Something in the Orange", which reached number 10 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Bryan toured the US until November 2022 in support of the record. Wildhearts
The Wildhearts are an English rock band, formed in 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band's sound is a mixture of hard rock and melodic pop music, often described in the music press as combining influences as diverse as the Beatles and 1980s-era Metallica. The Wildhearts achieved several top 20 singles and two top 10 albums in Britain, though they also faced difficulties with record companies and many internal problems often relating to drugs and depression. Much of the band's early career was affected by bitter feuds with their record company, East West. Throughout the band's history, members have regularly been replaced, with the only constant member being the band's founder, singer and guitarist Ginger. San Francisco Bay Guardian
The ''San Francisco Bay Guardian'' was a free alternative newspaper published weekly in San Francisco, California. It was founded in 1966 by Bruce B. Brugmann and his wife, Jean Dibble. The paper was shut down on October 14, 2014. It was relaunched in February 2016 as an online publication. The ''Bay Guardian'' was known for reporting, celebrating, and promoting left-wing and progressive issues within San Francisco and (albeit rarely) around the San Francisco Bay Area as a whole. This usually included muckraking, legislation to control and limit gentrification, and endorsement of political candidates and other laws and policies that fall within its political views.
