Michael Brennan (ice Hockey)
Michael Brennan (born January 24, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who most notably played in the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career Brennan was a member of U.S. National Under-18 Team for two seasons (2002–04). He played four seasons (2004–08) at Boston College. In 2008 Breannan was named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team. On April 16, 2010 Brennan was signed as a free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks, and he spent two seasons (2008–10) in the AHL with Chicago's top farm team – the Rockford IceHogs. He was invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs 2010–11 Training camp, and on September 26, 2010 he was assigned to the Maple Leafs AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. After recording a career high 10 points, Brennan was signed to an AHL contract with the Lake Erie Monsters for the 2011–12 season. Rockford IceHogs
The Rockford IceHogs are a professional ice hockey team based in Rockford, Illinois. They are members of the American Hockey League (AHL), having begun play in the League starting in the 2007–08 season. The team plays their home games at the BMO Harris Bank Center, and they serve as the top minor league affiliate of the National Hockey League (NHL)'s Chicago Blackhawks. The SM-liiga (marketed as just Liiga from 2013 on), (Finnish for ''League'') colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. It is one of the six founding leagues of the Champions Hockey League and currently allocated five spots - the maximum number - based on success in previous editions. It was created in 1975 to replace the SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur league. The SM-liiga is not directly overseen by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association, but the league and association have an agreement of cooperation. The Deutsche Eishockey Liga (for sponsorship reasons called "PENNY Deutsche Eishockey Liga") (; English: ''German Ice Hockey League'') or DEL, is a German professional ice hockey league and the highest division in German ice hockey. Founded in 1994, it was formed as a replacement for the Eishockey-Bundesliga and became the new top-tier league in Germany as a result. The Portland Pirates were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). Their home arena was the Cross Insurance Arena in downtown Portland, Maine. The franchise was previously known as the Baltimore Skipjacks from 1982 to 1993. The Florida Everblades are a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Estero, Florida, in the Cape Coral-Fort Myers metropolitan area.
