Ducksie Walsh (born Michael Walsh; 3 May 1966 – 4 August 2016) was an Irish handball player for Kilkenny Kilkenny (). is a city in County Kilkenny, Ireland. It is located in the South-East Region and in the province of Leinster. It is built on both banks of the River Nore. The 2016 census gave the total population of Kilkenny as 26,512. Kilken .... He won again in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He won ten All Ireland Softball Doubles with fellow Kilkennyman Eugene Downey. Even up until his death he was still competing at the highest level of 60x30 Handball. The week before his death he won the senior Irish Nationals, settling the score with Eoin Kennedy, Dublin. Gaelic handball (known in Ireland simply as handball; ga, liathróid láimhe) is a sport where players hit a ball with a hand or fist against a wall in such a way as to make a shot the opposition cannot return, and that may be played with two (singles) or four players (doubles). The sport, popular in Ireland, is similar to American handball, Welsh handball, fives, Basque pelota, Valencian frontó, and more remotely to racquetball or squash. Gaelic Senior Softball Singles
The All-Ireland Senior Softball Singles title (''M Donnelly 60 x 30 Singles'') is an all-Ireland Gaelic Athletic Association competition between all 32 counties of Ireland which first commenced in 1925. The first senior hardball singles title was won by M. Joyce of Dublin, a player from Urlingford, County Kilkenny. Kilkenny have won the most titles, with a total of 22. The 2007 final will was contested by Michael 'Ducksy' Walsh of Kilkenny and Eoin Kennedy of Dublin and Saint Brigid's GAA. Eoin won the final in two straight games by winning 21-20 and 21-6 to retain his title. Eoin then went on to win it in 2008, 2009 and 2010, which means he has now won the title seven times in a row. Eoin Kennedy
Eoin Kennedy is an Irish handball player from Fingal, Ireland. He is a member of Saint Brigid's GAA club. By profession he is an engineer and a former lecturer at NUI Maynooth. The holder of fourteen senior handball titles, Kennedy has also won three Irish Nationals Open Singles and a Collegiate title in 2001 while representing Dublin City University in Minneapolis, USA. In 1999, he won the US Nationals Open Singles and two years later won the Canadian singles final with a resounding win over Canadian player Merv Deckert in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
