Miami RedHawks Women's Basketball
The Miami RedHawks women's basketball team represents Miami University in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Redhawks play home basketball games at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio. Season-by-season record As of the 2015–16 season, the Redhawks have a 627–553 record, with a 323–260 record in the Mid-American Conference. Miami has won the Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament twice, in 1982 and 2008, while finishing as runner-up in 1983, 1990, and 1995. Miami University (informally Miami of Ohio or simply Miami) is a public research university in Oxford, Ohio. Mid-American Conference
The Mid-American Conference (MAC) is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I collegiate athletic conference with a membership base in the Great Lakes region that stretches from Western New York to Illinois. Oxford is a city in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 23,035 at the 2020 census. Glenn Box
Glenn Box is an American basketball coach who is the women's basketball head coach at Miami University. Coaching career Box began his collegiate coaching career in 2002 at Rend Lake College as an assistant for the men's basketball team for three seasons before taking over as head coach for Rend Lake's women's basketball program from 2005 to 2008. At Rend Lake he compiled a 64–31 overall record as a head coach. In 2008, Box began a career as an assistant coach in NCAA Division I women's basketball with his first stint in the MAC where he was an assistant coach at Western Michigan for two seasons. Millett Hall
Millett Hall () is a basketball arena in Oxford, Ohio. It is home to the Miami University men's and women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams. It is also the home of the ROTC program and various university events. It is named after Miami University's 16th President John D. Millett. The original construction cost was approximately $7.5 million. It is located on the northern part of Miami's campus, near Yager Stadium. The arena opened its doors on December 2, 1968, against Adolph Rupp's Kentucky Wildcats. A crowd of 9,135 saw the Wildcats win 86–77. Women's National Invitation Tournament
The Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) is a women's national college basketball tournament with a preseason and postseason version played every year. It is operated in a similar fashion to the men's college National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and NIT Season Tip-Off. Unlike the NIT, the women's tournament is not run by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), but is an independent national championship. Triple Crown Sports, a company based in Fort Collins, Colorado that specializes in the promotion of amateur sporting events, created the WNIT in 1994 as a preseason counterpart to the then-current National Women's Invitational Tournament (NWIT). Megan Duffy (born July 13, 1984) is an American women's basketball coach, currently the head coach at Marquette University. DeUnna Hendrix
DeUnna Hendrix is an American women's basketball former coach and former basketball player. She previously served as the women's basketball head coach at Miami University. Prior to that, she served as the women's basketball head coach at High Point University. Early life and education Hendrix is from Kokomo, Indiana. The 2008 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament involved 64 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the 2007–08 national champion of women's NCAA Division I college basketball. It commenced on March 22, 2008, and concluded when the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers defeated the Stanford University Cardinal 64–48 on April 8, 2008 at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. Notable events The preliminary rounds largely followed the seeding, with every number one and number two seed advancing to the regional finals.
