Charlotte Mew
Charlotte Mary Mew (15 November 1869 – 24 March 1928) was an English poet whose work spans the eras of Victorian poetry and Modernism. Early life and education Mew was born in Bloomsbury, London, daughter of the architect Frederick Mew (1833-1898), who designed Hampstead Town Hall, and Anna Maria Marden (1837-1923), daughter of architect H. E. Kendall, for whom Frederick Mew had previously worked as an assistant. Frederick was the son of an innkeeper on the Isle of Wight. The marriage produced seven children. Charlotte, nicknamed Lotti by her family, attended Gower Street School, where she was greatly influenced by the school's headmistress, Lucy Harrison, and attended lectures at University College London. Chris Mew (born 7 May 1961) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Hawthorn in the Victorian/Australian Football League. A defender, Mew usually played at centre half-back and was a five-time premiership player, in 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989 and 1991. Darren James Mew (born 23 May 1975), better known as Darren Styles, is an English record producer, DJ, singer and songwriter from Colchester, England. Originally a member of the breakbeat hardcore group DJ Force & the Evolution, Styles found success during the 1990s as one half of Force & Styles. The duo were pioneers of happy hardcore and wrote several well-known songs such as " Heart of Gold", "Pretty Green Eyes" and "Paradise & Dreams". In the early 2000s, Styles began producing more trance-influenced records with Mark Brady as Styles & Breeze. The duo released two hit singles "You're Shining" (2004) and "Heartbeatz" (2005) which both reached the Top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. Darren Mew (born 12 December 1979) is a British swimmer specialising in breaststroke. He is a member of Ellesmere College Titans and studied sport as a student at the University of Bath. He has competed in two consecutive Summer Olympics for Great Britain, starting in 2000. Post Competitive Life As of April 2022 he is the head coach and founder of SMS (Seven Mile Swimmers) a club base out of the Cayman Island. John Mew
John Mew (born 1928) is a British orthodontist. He is the originator of ''orthotropics'' (also known as ''Mewing''), a controversial form of oral posture training that claims to guide facial growth that is not supported by mainstream orthodontists. Career Mew was educated at Rose Hill preparatory school in Tunbridge Wells (1935–1942) and then at Tonbridge School (1942–1945). He subsequently graduated in dentistry at University College London (1948–1953), and then trained in Orthognathic surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead (1953–1956). He has written two textbooks and published many articles internationally on this subject. He became president of the Southern Counties Branch of the British Dental Association in 1971. Peter Mew is a retired British music audio engineer. He worked at Abbey Road Studios, where he was the senior mastering engineer.
