Messin' With The Boys
''Messin' with the Boys'' (1980) is the second album by American singer Cherie Currie, and the first to feature her sister Marie Currie as a major contributor. Their band was called ''Cherie and Marie Currie''. Marie was a guest vocalist on Cherie's first album, so Marie went on tour with Cherie to support her first album, ''Beauty's Only Skin Deep''. When Marie would join Cherie on stage to sing the encores, the audience would go wild. Cherie then ran with the idea that two blonds are better than one. The idea paid off because ''Messin' with the Boys'' received more radio play than ''Beauty's Only Skin Deep'', and their song "Since You Been Gone" made it to 95 on US charts. The single "This Time" and the album ''Messin' with the Boys'' made the top 200 on U.S. charts. This makes ''Messin' with the Boys'' Cherie Currie's most successful solo album. Cherie Ann Currie (born November 30, 1959) is an American singer, musician, actress and artist. Currie was the lead vocalist of The Runaways, a rock band from Los Angeles, in the mid-to-late 1970s. Russell Glyn Ballard (born 31 October 1945) is an English singer, songwriter and musician. Originally coming to prominence as the lead singer and guitarist for the band Argent, Ballard became a songwriter and producer by the late 1970s. I Surrender (Rainbow Song)
"I Surrender" is a song written by former Argent guitarist and singer Russ Ballard and first released by Head East as a single in October 1980 from their sixth album ''U.S. 1.'' It is better known for being a hit for Rainbow the following year, reaching number 3 on the UK Singles Charts. Rainbow version Released in January 1981, the song became the band's biggest hit in the UK. Originally, some backing vocals were recorded by Graham Bonnet, but after he quit the band, lead and backing vocals were sung by his replacement Joe Lynn Turner. Tetsu Yamauchi
is a Japanese retired bass guitarist. In the 1970s, he was a member of several popular hard rock bands, including Free, where he replaced former bassist Andy Fraser before the band's final album ''Heartbreaker'', and the Faces, where he replaced Ronnie Lane and appears on the band's final single, " You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything", as well as touring with them and playing on the live album '' Coast to Coast: Overture and Beginners''. Paul Francis Kossoff (14 September 1950 – 19 March 1976) was an English guitarist, mainly known as the co-founder and guitarist for the rock band Free. He was ranked number 51 in ''Rolling Stone''s list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". Simon Frederick St George Kirke (born 28 July 1949) is an English rock drummer best known as a member of Free and Bad Company. He has been the only continuous member of Bad Company since their inception. Life and career Kirke was born in Lambeth, South London, the son of Olive May ( Pollard) and Vivian Percy Kirke, who married in 1948.
