Mesita, New Mexico
Mesita is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cibola County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 804 at the 2010 census. Geography Mesita is located in eastern Cibola County at (35.006053, -107.316732). It is bordered to the northwest by Laguna. Interstate 40 passes through the community, with access from Exit 117. I-40 leads west to Grants, the Cibola County seat, and east to Albuquerque. The Rio San Jose, a tributary of the Rio Puerco, runs along the northeast side of the community. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Mesita CDP has a total area of , of which , or 0.13%, is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 776 people, 214 households, and 188 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 72.5 people per square mile (28.0/km2). There were 228 housing units at an average density of 21.3 per square mile (8.2/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 1.03% White, 97.42% Native American, 0.77% from other races, and 0.77% ...

Mesita (musical Project)
Mesita is the musical project of James Cooley, a musician who grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and is now based in Brooklyn. History Cooley writes, performs, and produces all of the music under the Mesita moniker himself. The project began in 2008 when he released the debut album ''Cherry Blossoms''. He released the album ''Here's To Nowhere'' in 2011 and ''The Coyote'' the following year. 2013 saw the release of the fourth full-length Mesita album ''Future Proof''. Mesita is featured on episodes of Skins (North American TV series) as well as Mistresses (U.S. TV series). The track "Somewhere Else" is featured on the first compilation from popular YouTube music channel Majestic Casual. Casa Mesita refers to two separate non-profit organizations in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Casa Mesita Thrift Shop and Casa Mesita Group Home are two of many social enterprise organizations in Los Alamos County, one of the highest-income counties in the United States, in a state with household income far below the national median. Casa Mesita Thrift Shop Casa Mesita Thrift Shop (NMSCC 0833772, Casa Mesita Thrift Shop Inc.) is a non-profit organization that operates a thrift shop for the purpose of supporting a group home for girls. The thrift shop sells donated, mostly used goods. The organization is 100% volunteer run; it has no employees and pays no salaries and no wages. At times, the thrift shop has paid casual labor to transport unsellable items to the municipal landfill.
