Merab Chanukvadze ( ka, მერაბ ჭანუყვაძე) (born 17 November 1982) is a Georgian politician who served as the Governor of Guria between 2017 - 2018. Political career Merab Chanukvadze entered politics in 2013 becoming the Deputy Governor of Guria. In August 2014 he become the Head of Ozurgeti District Administration. Political career In 1999 Zurab Nasaraya began his political career in Poti local council becoming a Member of Parliament in 2002 serving on both the Committee on Tax Revenue, Finance & Budget as well as the Interim Corruption Investigation Commission. In 2004 he left politics getting jobs in the Georgian Railways and reentered politics again on the 30 August 2018 as Governor of the Guria region of Georgia. Giorgi Margvelashvili ( ka, გიორგი მარგველაშვილი; born 4 September 1969) is a Georgian academic and politician who was the fourth President of Georgia, in office from 17 November 2013 to 16 December 2018. Having studied philosophy in university, he was twice the rector of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs from 2000 to 2006 and again from 2010 to 2012. In October 2012, he became a member of the newly formed cabinet of Bidzina Ivanishvili as Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. In February 2013, he was additionally appointed as First Deputy Prime Minister. Ozurgeti
Ozurgeti ( ka, ოზურგეთი ) is the capital of the western Georgian province of Guria. It was formerly known as Macharadze or Makharadze (named in honor of Filipp Makharadze). It is a regional center of tea and hazelnut processing. Ozurgeti is also administrative center of Ozurgeti District. Geography Ozurgeti is above sea level. Most of the town is located between the Bzhuzhi and Natanebi rivers. The Natanebi is a subterranean river in Ozurgeti, with a good deal of the city built on top of it, while the Bzhuzhi flows above ground. The city is bounded by hills in the north and south.
