Gus Menos
Gus Menos (December 5, 1920 – February 14, 1990) was an American politician and jeweler from Wisconsin. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Menos graduated from Lincoln High School and served in the United States Army Air Forces. He worked as a metal finisher and in turbine assembly in a factory, and in air-conditioning service; and was a "lifetime member" of the United Auto Workers union. Menos was a Gemological Institute of America-certified gem appraiser, and owned a jewelry and carpet business. Legislative service Menos was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in a special election in September 1971 to represent the 1st Milwaukee County District (Ward 6 of the City of Glendale and Ward 1 of the City of Milwaukee) to succeed Democrat Mark Lipscomb, Jr., who had just been elected to the Wisconsin Senate After winning an absolute majority of the votes in a six-way Democratic primary, he defeated Republican Matthew Fausek by 1,651 to 100 in the general election. Hilary Menos
Hillary Menos (born 1964 in Luton) is an English poet. She studied philosophy, politics and economics at Wadham College, Oxford, then worked as a food journalist and restaurant critic in London before moving to Devon to renovate a Domesday manor. She ran a 100-acre organic farm near Totnes with her husband and four sons between 2004 and 2012. She now lives in France. Solon Ménos (9 March 1859 – 14 October 1918) was a Haitian writer and politician. Born in Anse-à-Veau, Ménos studied in France and received a doctorate in law there at the age of twenty-two. Más y Menos are fictional superhero twins, around the age of 12, from the ''Teen Titans (TV series), Teen Titans'' animated television series, affiliated with the Titans East team. They are among the few heroes on the series not to have originated in the comic book. Taken out of context, their names translate from Spanish to "More and Less", but in their particular context (i.e. the symbols on their chests and their rallying cry), their names mean "Plus and Minus" as both "más" and "menos" can be used as mathematics terms.
